Summary: In the Know at Sea
Review: I recently received the NE Boaters Almanac for 2004 as a gift. I sail from New England and as far south as the Chesapeake. This book is a gem. Not only does it give me navigation tips, but the scoop on where to eat, dock, etc. The website for the book is also a big help. A big thank you to the Miners. Keep it coming.

Summary: If only, if only....
Review: If only I'd had this book I might not have spent several hours aground with the greenhead flies in the Inland Waterway! It's great that someone has finally put together a crusing guide that reads like a regular book and not like stereo instructions. The Northeast Boaters Almanac is a must have for ANY boater - I've pulled too many of my fellow boaters off of sandbars in the past - JUST BUY IT!

Summary: Best boaters guide out there
Review: My family and I have sailed the northeast coastline for many years. And we've bought all the cruising guide books available. Although this one is not printed in color it is indeed the easiest to use and has the most pertinent cruising information. It's even fun to read with personal experience inserted in the navigation text. Hot tips are highlighted for crucial information boaters don't want to miss...like understandding the currents and tides in crucial areas like the East River and Hell Gate in NY or the C&D Canal to the Chesapeake Bay. This is the only book to give detailed info on NJ back bay cruising and cruising the Delware River! Boater friendly restaurants are suggested and located on the charts. Full page sized easy to read Harbor charts locate thousands of marinas and launch ramps too. There's even articles in the front of the book like how to cruise with pets. Best of all it's only $19.95 - cheaper than all the others and it even has the tides and currents for all the areas. We love it on our boat.

Summary: If only, if only....
Review: Super almanac to help me plan my first major cruise from Maine to Long Island Sound. It gives me insights and hints on where to go, where to eat, where to drop the hook and where to get provisions and gas. It will save me time and worry.

Summary: A Boater's Best Friend
Review: The Northeast Boaters Almanac is certainly a boater's best friend. While it suppplies all of the essential navigational aids any boater could want, it also offers hundreds of suggestions for entertainment, fine dining, and historical and cultural points of interest -- including our own New Jersey Museum of Boating where you can find the almanac on sale. A fine read even for landlubbers whose boating ocurs only in the imagination!

Summary: Don't leave port without it
Review: This book provides practical information to the Nth degree. For anyone who cruises the Northeast (or wishes they could), they will find information that is useful, well organized and concisely written. I especially find the New Jersey section useful as this is a weak point in other comparable books.

Summary: Chicken Soup for the Serious Boater
Review: Wow! This is that mythical "If you could bring one thing along with you on that next cruise, what would it be?" It's not just tides and currents, marinas and shoals. It's where to go, how to get there, what to avoid, what to look forward to, and what to do when you get there. It's not just an almanac; it's a survival kit and a tour guide. I found Northeast Boater's Almanac to be well organized and meticulously researched. Whether you're a day sailor in a catboat or Master and Commander of a blue water yacht, if you're between Maine and Maryland's Eastern Shore, this almanac should be listed under "Essential Equipment" on any craft.
