Rating: Summary: for a friend Review: I bought this book while on vacation for a long time friend. This friend was like a brother to me. I read it and it was as if it was written with him in mind. Sadly, he was a New York City firefighter, and was killed on 9/11/01 at the WTC. I never got a chance to give it to him. I ended up giving it to his brother at his funeral. If you know a serious fisherman, get them this book.
Rating: Summary: A Quickie Review: Read this delightful short book of quaotations and sayings about the joy of fishing and the meaning of life in under an hour. A perfect gift for a friend who fishes, or yourself, whether young, middle aged, or elderly.
Rating: Summary: Very Profound....Fishing is a rich metaphor! Review: This book was one of the key resources for writing my book (about the connection between fishing and love). I've read some of Mr. Freeman's other books and I think this one is the best. While it is only a quotation book, it can really be a delight for the thoughtful person who likes to go fishing. The quotations from Emerson, Thoreau, Shakespeare, Disraeli, Keller and the like are indicative of the value of fishing as a metaphor for life. I think this book especially with its low price would make a great gift for any fisherman out there. "Men go fishing their whole lives without knowing it is not the fish they are after." Thoreau
