Rating: Summary: Used to be the best reference book to have Review: I have a copy of this book and for a long time it was the best thing ever. Recently I have seen another book called "flytying tools and materials and where to get them" This book not only gives you a picture to reference it tells you a bit about the fur/feather/animal and where it is most common.I found this more usefull especially when I started classic salmon fly tying. All that said it is an excellent book and well worth the money.
Rating: Summary: this was the most helpful book, of all i have ever found. Review: i have looked at, and read, many books designed to help a beginner, and old-timer, at learning to use the materials and tie the flies. never have i yet found a better book than this one, or even it's equal.
Rating: Summary: My appreciation Review: Too bad I didn't have this book 30 years ago. In reviewing this great book I learned more things in three days than in a great many years tying all kinds of material. Great short explainations and the photos are superb. I recommend this book to all tyers
