Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent workout and dietary advice from 5-time Ms. Olympia
Review: Cory does an excellent job of describing exercises through text and pictures. Helps people of different fitness levels put together exercise programs for getting into shape. She also tailors special workout routines for those interested in preparing their bodies for any of 47 different sports. Excellent advice on aerobic exercise and nutrition. As a guy, I'm convinced the gorgeous pictures of Cory are worth the price of the book! Buy the book for that reason--and develop a great workout program for free!

Summary: Good reference for weight training exercisers
Review: I found this book to be a useful reference in my weight training program. Cory gives good examples of many exercises, from beginner to advanced. I find her exercises more similar to mens than any other women's fitness book I've read. Because of this, it is most useful for the advanced weight lifter. One draw-back is that the publication date is old (1991). I would love to see Cory update this book in the near future. Overall, a great book.

Summary: Great Workout Book
Review: What I like best about this book is that Cory and her husband have put together a really comprehensive set of photographs illustrating how to do various exercises. I take this book to the gym with me for reference during my work out. The book has single handedly taught me some principles of free weights.

The text of the book is written in a casual style that is less than professional. The raw style allows the reader to quickly build a relationship with the author better than one gets with the average trainer. I find that the people at the gym who paid to do this are less than helpful and do not have complete enough information. The diet information seems useful, although I'm more of an Atkins diet fan. The sample workouts are also a treasure -- there are many to choose from, all well thought out.

As for the 70's fashion -- it is cause for amusement. Hey isn't this stuff in fashion these days anyway? Cory is an attractive cross between Bo Derek and the incredible hulk, and sets a model for all of us to follow.
