Summary: All the bounces were good
Review: Ben Wright does a superb job in taking mere golfing mortals behind the scenes of some famous, and some not so famous, tournaments to give an insight into LIFE in the golfing world. It is a page turner that had me howling with laughter as he strips bare the mystique behind both golf broadcasting and some of the peripheral characters that add to the colour of the sport. Of course in the true style that has endeared him to so many he also takes a few swipes at some brighter lights in the business of golf. Wright has an obvious deep love for the game but he does not let sentimentality get in the way of a good story. I am sure that he must have a stock of untold tales waiting to be let out of the closet and I look forward to the next installment from this very funny, very English and very lovable raconteur.

Summary: Very Interseting
Review: Ben Wright has some pretty funny tales in this book. You have to have the proper prespective to really like it though. Sure Ben is an idiot but his stories are mighty funny - especially when you picture him telling it with his thick accent.

Summary: Ben Wright was the best
Review: Ben Wright was one of the best golf broadcasters, but I didn't know he had done so much. His stories with Hogan, Palmer, Jack and Arnie and all the CBS stories, especially with Frank Chirkinian (his old producer) are great. I belly laughed all through the book. Bring him back to the broadcast booth!

Summary: OK Bounces and Misguided Lies
Review: Ben Wright's -Good Bounces and Bad Lies- is a humourous, fun and fairly light read featuring Mr. Wright's journalistic and personal travels through golf and broadcasting's recent history. For those readers looking for behind-the-scenes insight into famous people (from golf and entertainment), rarely told broadcasting stories and some engaging (though seemingly sad) stories of a lot of rowdy drinking, you'll enjoy this book. Those who remember Wright's verbal skills on television will enjoy imagining his voice in their heads as they read his words. It's very entertaining.

Summary: An afternoon of belly laughs
Review: Ben Wright, CBS's famous British broadcaster was always known, at least by me, as a wonderful, stately golf commentator who clearly knew more about the game and communicated it better than almost anybody. When I bought the book, I had know idea what went on behind the scenes. Good Bounces & Bad Lies is a who's who of golf and golf journalists--Wright even hired the Beatles for a gig when he ran a night club in England and he made them clean up before they went on stage. The book is revealing, entertaining, witty, charming....his wonderful British voice exudes from the pages...if you are a golfer of any level, I would highly recommend this book.

Summary: If you love golf, you will love this book
Review: I am a fan of Mr. Wright's and I now have a deeper appreciation of what goes on behind those infamous telecasts. The sections on the Masters and the Ryder Cup shows all of us what it means to play for God and Country. Thanks for the great book Ben.

Summary: bring Ben back please
Review: I emplore CBS to bring Ben back to its broadcasts so he won't have time to write any more books. This is about as exciting as English food. If you want to read or send your favorite golfer some reading materials there are a lot of other good ones available such as The Masters, A GOOD WALK SPOILED & THE MAJORS. Leave this one alone.

Summary: Good, but . . .
Review: Needed more stories about golfers and tournaments (especially the pros outside the ropes), less about the Ryder Cup, even less about the CBS announcers and much less about Ben's name-dropping of "stars" (most of them dead) at the end. Well, I guess he had to use something to fill the other 150 pages. NOTE: please bring Ben back to TV golf! What about it NBC, now that you brought Marv back?

Summary: All time great golf book
Review: This book was loaded with hilarious tales and net insight into the world of golf. I felt like I was behind the scenes with all of the players and stars. Ben Wright is funny and I miss his voice on golf TV, but reading this book brought back his dry wit and amazing knowledge. I didn't want the book to end, because it was one neat tale after another...some of them unbelieveable!
