Rating: Summary: Harold puts you right there on the schooner with him !!! Review: It is virtually impossible to put this classic down after you open the first chapter . You share every moment of the voyages with Harold or " Steve " as he`s affectionately known by his friends . His ability to put you "aboard" makes this adventure a classic in it-self. A beautiful setting for truly remarkable adventure !!!
Rating: Summary: Not very good Review: Not real high on my nautical book list. In my opinion, it's more a story about the author not having time for his boat and in the care of others it sinks. It's a reminiscent look back.
Rating: Summary: One of the best book I've read in a long time. Review: Someone gave me this book to read and I didn't think I would like it, but how wrong I was. It kept my interest all the way through and in the end brought tears to my eyes. I've learned more about the world we live in.
Rating: Summary: FOR ALL THOSE WHO DREAM OF OWNING THEIR OWN BOAT Review: Thousands have come to know about the voyages of Schooner Third Sea through the books, many magazine stories and newspaper articles written by travel and adventure writer Harold Stephens.
In this, his latest book, you can read how Third Sea was built and outfitted and how for eighteen years went on to sail the South Pacific and the waters and rivers of Asia. You will read about the famous and not so famous people who have sailed aboard her, about her adventures and landfalls, and about pirates, renegades and typhoons she encountered. And you will read about her loss in a devastating hurricane that ravaged the Hawaiian Islands.
This is more than a yachting tale or a story about a schooner; it is an inspiration for those who have ever dreamed about going to sea aboard a sailing ship.
