Rating: Summary: Not a good effort by Sampson Review: I was VERY disappointed by this book. Curt Sampson usually writes very picturesque books that make me feel like I am seeing the world through the subject's eyes and that I am right there at tournaments, watching breathlessly. This is a very rushed effort for what should have been a terrific subject. I feel like Sampson had a hard time getting an understanding of Tiger Woods, the golfer and the person. He also seemed to have a hard time getting in touch with anyone else close enough to Tiger in skill level or in friendship who was willing or interested in discussing the issue. Instead, there were uninteresting conversations of no substance with some second-tier players. If the point was to demonstrate that he is a hard subject to get close to, writing a book to show it was a bad decision. This project should have been scrapped at the point when this was realized. Curt Sampson is going to have to come back with a spectacular book next in order to recover from this disaster.
Rating: Summary: He has written a lot better Review: Mr. Sampson has written a lot better in his previous golf books. The title is kind of deceiving is that Tiger is not the main character. Maybe it should be called "I Chased Tiger but couldn't get him to talk to me so I wrote about Charles Howell and Frank Lickliter instead."
