Summary: Amazing & Inspiring
Review: Raise The Roof is one book I found very hard to put down so I finished it in one day. Afterward I felt even more respect and admiration for Pat Summitt and the Tennessee Lady Vols. You realize right away that Pat's tough-love style of coaching is for the good of the team. If she picked on any particular players more than others, if she called their name more than others, it meant she knew they were really special and she wanted them to push themselves to the limit that she knew they were capable of. At the start of the 97-98 season, Pat took 4 incoming freshmen-Teresa Geter(Tree), Kristin (Ace) Clement and 2 more "Meeks" - Tamika Catchings and Semeka Randall, and made each one an integral member of the team. One amusing chapter mentions Pat's initial confusion hearing the name "Meek" so many times in the locker room and on the court. Along with the 2 freshmen Meeks there was Junior star player Chamique Holdsclaw and of course they all called each other Meek. Pat tells it all here, giving a little bio on these 4 freshman(where they hailed from, family life, etc.)and tells tales that are both moving and quite funny. Despite early reservations, Pat decided to loosen up with the team and found herself having fun all the way to the championship. It wasn't all fun and games, though, as Pat had to deal with the tragic death of the son of close friends, an obsessed fan of Kyra Elzy's who turned out to be a stalker, various injuries and just plain exhaustion. Thankfully, she has top assistant coaches in Mickie DeMoss, Holly Warlick(who even played for Pat Summitt on the 76-80 Lady Vols) and Al Brown. This book is a must-have for all fans of women's basketball. Very highly recommended.

Summary: A page turner from cover to cover. You won't want it to end.
Review: Reading this book was pure fun and extremely entertaining. I don't usually have much time for reading non-career related books, but I found myself staying up late at night just to get through 1 more chapter. Coach Pat Summit reveals a more personal side of herself, her coaches and players than ever before. You'll find yourself feeling like the players did at the climax of their "majical season" -- they simply wanted the majic to go on and on.

Highly recommended reading to all basketball fans young and old.

Summary: Another winner from Pat Summit.
Review: This book is a candid look at the life of a college athlete and the people who coach them. Pat Summit writes about her players and where they come from, what obstacles they overcome, and the sad truth that life is not always fair. The players are the story here and it is a great read to feel thier success as people, and understand that it is not where you start but where you end that matters. Congrats to the Lady Vols and the coaches.

Summary: This book is the best. Everyone should read it.
Review: This book is really good. It captures the Lady Vol's undefeated season. It tells the emotions that the players had . It captures every game from Pat Summit's point of view. From preparing the team for the game to afterwards in the locker room. It covers Kyra Elzy's injury and the stalker who tried to give her money. It even talks about her son Tyler dancing to Puff Daddy. I give this book five Stars on a scale of five. My favorite part was when they won the national championship.

Summary: One of the BEST books I've read!!!
Review: This was a very good book. After they lost their final game this season (98-99) I was heartbroken!! I just couldn't believe it, that the Lady Vols are done, Chamique and Kelly are none with their college years. I would love to meet Coach Pat, just to see what she is really like!!! Pat in my book, is the best coach around!!! Keep up the good work Lady Vols, and keep writing more books!!!
