Rating: Summary: Raise the Roof Review: I am a high school basketball player and I really enjoy this book. I have read this book more than once and it's good everytime. I love all the inside stories on the Tennessee team and I love the feeling of being there as I read. It is so realistic and I can really relate to what goes on in women's basketball and the experience in it. Pat Summitt did a great job on this book and I only wish I could have really been there as a part of the team and face what they faced during that undefeated season.

Rating: Summary: Lessons for Life Review: I have read this book not once, but twice, in the last 18 months. The second time around I had purchased my own copy and have taken a highlighter to the pages! So many life lessons can be found in this book--not just about sports but about dedication, adversity, winning...and losing. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an inspirational, uplifting story of young women overcoming adversity to rise to the rank of champion, both personally and within their sport!
Rating: Summary: A must read by all vol fans. Review: I have watched the Lady Vols and Pat Summitt for many years, I can remeber back to when she was first hired, any while I thought she was one tuff cookie and did wonders with the team I am ammazed to see she can write so well. This book had me crying to many times to count it was very touching. Coach Summitt, keep up the very good work you do, keep yelling at the Lady Vols, they need it as much as you do...and have a great season.
Rating: Summary: It was just like being there, courtside. Review: I loved this book!! I lived in Knoxville for many years and am a big fan of the Lady Vols. Reading this book made me feel like I was right there in the middle of the action. I could feel the intensity of the games, the frustration of the players and coaches and I could feel my heart race as she described the games. I had been to many of the games she talked about but now I was able to see them in a whole new light.I've had the pleasure of meeting Coach Summitt while I worked at the Univerity of Tennessee. You can see her intensity in her eyes and she was able to shift that intensity to the page. You also get to see a more compasionate side of Coach Summitt as well. This team became more than a group of young women playing basketball, they became family to her. If you are not a fan of women's basketball, you will be after reading this book.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK, AS AN ATHLETE I COULD RELATE CIRCUMSTANCES TALKED ABOUT IN THE BOOK. PAT SUMMIT IS A GREAT LADY AS WELL AS THE REST OF THE TEAM. WATCHING ACE PLAY IN HIGH SCHOOL, IT WAS GREAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE STRUGGLES THE PLAYERS WENT THROUGH TO GET WHERE THEY ARE, IT'S TRULLY INSPIRATIONAL AND IS PROOF THAT WITH HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!
Rating: Summary: A Peek Inside Greatness Review: I never really followed women's basketball until I saw a news interview on TV after Pat Summitt and the Lady Vols had lost to UConn. I decided to look up this coach on the internet and discovered that she was a legend in her on right. I was embarrassed because I knew absolutely nothing about her. The book is easy reading and entertaining. It made me laugh, as somethings were just down right funny. I like the outline of the book as it gives short interviews of various players after most chapters. I enjoyed Pat's concise summary of her players character and her dealing with the various issues and problems they faced. She gives a vivid picture of the going on inside a basketball team. She shows an uncanny ability to mold and shape women into winners and all the while, she was willing to make adjustment in herself. Greatness may start with one person, but it can never remain great until it has a supporting cast. Pat her coaches and her players gave us a peek inside greatness and most of all a real life story that got them there.
Rating: Summary: Every coach needs a copy of this inspiring story!!! Review: I really enjoyed this tremendous story. It is so inspiring and uplifting, not just about basketball, but about life itself. It shows how dedicated you have to be in order to achieve something special. In the game of life, nothing is given to us for free and that is definitely shown through this story. I believe Pat Summitt has been blessed with the God-given ability to coach and that shows by the respect that her team has for her. A coach myself, it is so nice to have great advice through Pat Summitt and Raise the Roof. May God Bless you and your team always.
Rating: Summary: Raise the Roof Review: I recently read Pat Summit's Raise the Roof book and thouroughly enjoyed it. The book was very inspirational and gave an insight on how it feels to play college basketball. The book lets the reader inside the minds of the team as well as the coach. As a high school basketball player this opened up a whole new meaning of basketball as viewed from another presepective.
Rating: Summary: If you love the Lady Vols, you have to have this book! Review: I was amazed at the diverse backgrounds of not only the coaching staff but the players. Most of the players are profiled as Pat Summitt reviews the Lady Vols perfect season. Knowing what these young ladys have been through in their lives makes you realize how sports can help girls make it through rough childhoods.
