Summary: Buck's life makes for a great story, but needs storytellers
Review: What a story Buck O'Neil has to tell! By why, oh why, couldn't the publishers have hired legitimate ghostwriters to tell it. This book reads like it was excerpted from Highlights magazine. As a reader, I felt truly insulted. Too bad Tom Verducci or Tom Boswell or some actual baseball writer wasn't onboard to add STYLE to Buck's substance.
