Rating: Summary: Great Overview of the Ninja Art Review: This book is one of the best introductions on the Ninja Art I have ever read. It is written from the authors point of view as he was first introduced to the art and learned it. Very well written. Gives a great insight of the art. Has a narrative comparrison of the more traditional arts vs ninjutsu. The book contains seven sections. Starts with Perspective, the authors search for Ninja, unarmed combat, weapons, deception, commando tactics and psychology. A book you will read over and over again.
Rating: Summary: One of the first ninjutsu books you should read Review: This book is somewhat lacking in demonstration of "techniques," but it is an excellent account of Hayes's quest to find the ninja. For beginners of ninjutsu, I HIGHLY recommend reading this book to obtain a clearer understanding of authentic ninjutsu. Hayes is one of the Western world's leading authorities on the subject, and a basic knowledge of the ninjas' history is a prerequisite to physical training. This book is somewhat shallow and slow, but invaluable knowledge can be gained by reading it (like any of Hayes's publications).

Rating: Summary: Very hard to read Review: This book may be informative, but I think it is way too informative. How so? It is describing martial arts movement. I don't know about you, but reading how a hand moves or how a weapon moves is very hard to follow. These things are meant to be seen. Some topics like the history and the philosophy makes good reading, but when the author becomes too descriptive with the techniques, it becomes very difficult to follow. Also, the style of writing does not make it easier to read either.

Rating: Summary: Very good Review: this is a great book to read. I read it many years ago and every once in a while I will pick it up and read it again. This is one of Hayes's best publishings in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: A broad overview of the Ninja arts Review: This is a very good book detailing Hayes's training with Master Masaaki Hatsumi. It provides an American's perspective on the art, and is something of an introduction, rather than a training manual. Very entertaining and informational.
Rating: Summary: Good book Review: This is book that is worth to read. Hayes tells about when he first came in contact with ninjutsu. He explains in detail how it was to train ninjutsu for the first time, and gives you a good description of it that even a person with no experience in martial arts will understand.
Rating: Summary: A very awsome book for anyone interested in Ninjutsu Review: This is one of my favorite books ever, filled with great information. If you study the martial arts you should really take the time to read anything by Stephen K. hayes
Rating: Summary: Authentic ninjutsu Review: This is the real deal. The idiot that said the techneques were "watered down" has no idea what real Taijutsu (the physical form of ninjutsu) looks like and further is obviously an apologist for charletans like Ashida Kim, who have seen too much ninja turtles.
