Summary: Read closely to get the best of it!
Review: "I want to drive faster, but I don't know how!"
It's the eternal question. If you think this book is a manual to do this: you're wright. If you think it will sum up wich button in your car to push, or wich lever to pull to become a world champion, it won't. Dissapointed? Don't be. What this book will teach you is much more valuable. It deals with everything you need to know to be faster than anyone, and gives you the rules of the game. Throughout the book Ayrton Senna states his view on all subjects wich is valuable. It covers what the title claims: "The principles of race driving",steering, braking, corners, overtaking, the lot. All this makes this book a must for everyone serious about motorracing. And something to read, read again, and again, and again.

Summary: A well-written coffee table book about Senna's career.
Review: Contrary to its name, this book is less about driving and more about Senna's career--a must have for Senna fans like myself. Sadly, just about the most technical part of this book is on racing lines. Get Carroll Smith's "...to Win" series instead, if you're seriously interested in the subject. At least get "Tune to Win" and "Drive to Win", if not the entire series.

Summary: A must read!!!
Review: Find this book! If you can't find it then borrow it or find a copy! This book is awesome! Yes I am an Ayrton Senna fan. I bought my original copy wich is still in pristine shape for 36 Canadian dollars in 1996. I would not sell it for 500 $ American dollars!!! This an awesome book of the techniques of motor racing, technical and sportlike! And then, it goes a lot further than that... It gives us stunning Grand prix pictures of Senna and F1 in general. For the pics alone it is easily worth it. It also gives a great a fantastic scholarly and "I do it this way" how to of motor racing. But the best parts are how Ayrton prepares for not only a race, but a season, a championship, and life in general. Senna was a truely analytical, psychoanalytic, and spiritious person. His wrtings remind me of FReud and JUng. Yes, he is that deep and well thought out! He is special, intellectual and combative. And charismatic. Read the last chapter on preparation and psychology and you will be moved. I wish he would have survived, not to race, but to enlighten us. He was, well special.

Summary: Simplely the best.
Review: Great book that F1 mania must have one. In this book, just simple and easy instructions, but very useful to race driving. This must be a bible for race driving.

Summary: The racing bible
Review: I will say this is the bible for racers. The chapter on choosing the best racing line is very nice. And that is the most universal part for any kind of racers besides F1. However, some parts like gear selection and car setup was not what I expected. I expected to see something mroe technical like calculation of definite gear ratios you need with formulas... Anyway, it's a good book with nice photos. You won't regret for buying it. But if you are looking for a Senna biography, you are at the wrong place.

Summary: Senna racing class
Review: It's a racing guide, not a biography. The F1 world through the great brazilian winner. It's a basic racing guide, with F1 how-to drive information, signed by Ayrton Senna. Perhaps a hardbook edition will be a perfect option.

Summary: An excellent overview
Review: Of the "celebrity" racing manuals this one is the best. I've found it invaluable in the detail it goes into in certain areas that many racing schools brush over. I recommend it over the Alain Prost book.

Summary: More than just a how to race book!
Review: Yes, it is an invaluable book on the "Principles of Race Driving." It will help all drivers (not just racing drivers) become better drivers. It does this using a clear and fascinating text with copious diagrams. It is, however, also a look at the mind of one of the greatest racing drivers of all time, witnessed through his thoughts as he writes.

Not just for drivers, but for racing fans everywhere and not just Formula 1 but all types of fans.

A classic book that does not come along every day from a classic driver that also does not come along every day.

I've read mine many times and would recommend it to all race fans.
