Rating: Summary: 4th generation Review: Author Yang Zhenduo, a descendent of the founder of the Yang school of taijiquan, was encouraged by the growing interest in his art. He set about to record its movements, an encapsulated history, and some essential lectures in order to ensure that the essentials behind his lineage's style of taiji were faithfully transmitted. The book, while not 'deluxe' in presentation, is a good read and a fine learning tool -- the author's writing and teaching style (as passed down through his family) incorporates concise wording and matching photographic explanations so that the reader will understand the subject-matter at all times. The author humbly offers that he has not done as fine a job as had been done by his father or brother. But the fact is, that he has made a great book for the beginner, and just as great a book for the accomplished taijiquan practioner.
