Summary: Locker Room Mojo is fascinating and artistically illustrated
Review: Locker Room Mojo is a great book. It has so many fascinating stories about superstitions, lucky charms and rituals of many major athletes, sports teams and coaches. It is very informative and has details of athletes beliefs that are not general public knowledge. These sports figures seemed to really open up to these authors. The illustrations are so artistic and not usually found in books of this type. I have put this book on my coffee table and everyone has the same reaction as I did. Can't wait for the next book!

Summary: Amazing book, full of fun stories and great photos!
Review: We hear about them often-from the football field to the ice rink-superstitions adopted by athletes, in the belief that some magical power is unleashed from their daily diet or special wardrobe. However, we never hear the behind-the-scenes explanations of where these superstitions are born. Locker Room Mojo: True Tales of Superstitions in Sports, written by sports enthusiast Nick Newton and sports writer Bill Minutaglio, is a visually striking coffee table book with 88 short stories telling the tales behind the superstitions. Not your average sports trivia book, Locker Room Mojo contains rare archival photos surrounded by elaborate graphics, making this the definitive collection of sports superstitions for fans of all ages. The book reveals stories such as: "The Curse of the Bambino", "The Chicken Men Get Their Hits", "The Peanut Principle", "Dead Fred", "If You Jar It, He Will Win" and "The Human Rain Delay." The magical soul of sports appears in this reflection on some of the nation's greatest past-times, overshadowing the complications of money and fame that now command attention in today's sports. The anecdotes are surprising, entertaining and sometimes, even frightening. Readers will discover a treasure trove of trivia surrounding their favorite sports heros; and those not already fans will develop an affection for the magic of sports and the athletes that put their heart and soul into every game.
