Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Cut and paste special Review: This book kicked a$$!!! This was, by far, the coolest book I've ever seen, bar none! It is a virtual encyclopedia of how to protect yourself, and how to inflict the maximum damage against bigger and more numerous aggressors. It discusses, in explicit detail, the best way to use a gun, a knife, a belt, improvised weapons, and your bare hands. It then catalogs the various types of improvised weapons into subcategories based upon weapon type, effectiveness, and practicality. I've never seen anything like this in print before. It even has a chapter on how to dispose of an attacker's dead body! This book was incredible, and even if you don't think you'll ever need this information, it's a fun book to read, and a really cool addition to your book collection!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: NOT FOR THE MEEK!!! Review: This excellent book is totally unlike any other self-defense manual you've ever seen! Heavy on Combat Psychology and Weaponscraft, this masterwork goes above and beyond any other work on the subject. Mister Jahn isn't afraid to tell it like it is, with all the grisly details, and (unlike most self-proclaimed "experts") he clearly has experience "in the field" pertaining to these matters. Fortunately, he doesn't take himself too seriously, and lightens the lessons with a bit of dark humor from time to time. This book was incredible -- you'll learn more from this inexpensive text than from thousands of dollars worth of videos and seminars. REQUIRED READING!!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: good book but not for everyone Review: This is a very good book. It offers practical and realistic advice about fighting mindset, weapons, improvised weapons, and unarmed combat. HOWEVER, be forewarned that there are no pictures or diagrams. This is not a "technique" book and as such it may not meet some poeople's expectations.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Premium!!! Review: This is the best book I've ever seen on this subject!! At first skepticism arose due to the fact that the reviews only consisted of "5-stars", but thats the only rating appropriate... This book goes far beyond anything else on the market(that I've read), and give much thought about the "intelligent" aspects of selfdefence, everything is there!!(and hype,B-S, and other types of immaturity is not). Where differing opinions might arise, such as when discussing calibers, the author's open enough to simply say sort of: -"ok, if that's work for you, then use it."...And then he gives the rationale for his choices, whilst many others's just doesn't explain why this or that should be done...Best chapters:(IMHO) "Mental preparation" I't ain't fancy, it's paramount. "Introduction to knifefighting" -oh, you never thought of that! "worse than nothing" This is vital information to 99% of the population in Europe, and a whole lot of folks in the U.S as well.. Since I have myself started out on a manuscript for the Swedish market, a revelation came to me whilst reading: "This is the kind of book I want to write!" Then came another: "Mr Jahn's gonna want to kick my ass for copycating!" But just as any subject that's being described by several people: If somethings true, then that truth is gonna sound the same whilst coming from someone else..however: buy this book! You WILL learn something valuable regardless of prior training. The only bad thing about it, is that when you've finished it, you'll be begging for more!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Cut and paste special Review: This lame attempt to put out a realistic street defense book is simply a cut and paste effort, and those who have read other self-defense/reality fighting books will see it for what it is. Some of the information is valuable, thus the two star rating, but you can find the same information in other sources written by more capable fighters/authors. My copy went in the trash.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Open Your Eyes Review: This small book deserves merit as brain food for the martial artist. You don't have time to be scarred in a fight or to figure out what you are going to do once a fight starts. When you are attacked you will respond according to the very way you train today. Your luck depends on being prepared and being ready to respond appropriately, and the chapter on mental preparation may just save your life! I only gave 4 stars because he didn't have any photos, but the squimish will do good to read it without photos. Train hard and have fun! Guro Dennis Servaes http://www.dennisservaes.com

Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: False Belief! Review: Too martial arty for one. Second is everyday people will find this book a complete turn off. It should be titled "For Street Fighters Only!" Way over the head on the everyday person and put in the wrong hands, like a teenager, could get them hurt with false belief in the information provided in the book. One must understand that no book can teach mindset or technique and a true combative goes through real training. In all fairness to the author their is much worst on the market.
