Summary: Good Advise for new men golfers as well!
Review: Great little Pink Book - I bought it for my new golfer wife as a gift but eneded up reading it before I gave it to her. I wish I had read it 2 years ago when I started golfing, it would have saved me some stress and confusion. It is full of really good advise for new golfers especially in the areas of protocol and how not to make a fool of yourself. Everyone wants to do the correct thing on the course but you need a primer to be prepared - this book does just that with a humorous twist. I recommend this book for any new golfer, male or female. Summary: Why I wrote and published this book for new women golfers!
Review: Hurrah I am thrilled that this "little pink book of golf" has been so popular. As a teacher, I am delighted with the response from new women golfers and glad to hear that it is helping them to feel more comfortable on the golf course.

Why did I write this book? I remember the first year that I tried to play golf - it was a very nreve-racking and scary time! I can still recall feeling my heart pounding each time I prepared to hit the ball. Besides struggling with the skill of the game, a new golfer encounters a new environment, new terminology, and new etiquette which other golfers assume you know! After playing for a few years i would continually see other women making the same mistakes that I had - simply because no one had told them otherwise. --- It seemed like time for a helpful, friendly book on the subject which would appeal to women. I felt that the more knowledge women had about the game of golf, the more comfortable they would feel on the golf course.

Why did I publish this book myself? I was conceerned that the things I felt were important may be compromised by a publisher who thought otherwise. I wanted the book to be a lighthearted, friendly overview of the game, the cover to be inviting, the format to be easy to read, the information quick to refer to and technically correct. I also wanted the book to be a compact, convenient size and was concerned with the sturdiness of the book thus choosing 80 lb. paper and a strong cover.

A last word! In writing a book of this type one quickly learns that it is not a project done in isolation. Many, many friends, relatives and golf professionals were kind enough to read and re-read the material. It was also very important to get feedback from beginning golfers. The book had to be crafted from their eyes as well as those who know the game. Please have fun with the book, refer to it often, and go to the golf course with courage and confidence!

Summary: Very basic for the beginner
Review: I am a beginner, and I bought this book expecting insight into how to improve my game. Instead, the book focuses mainly on etiquette and rules - good to know, but anyone who has played even one round of golf with a more experienced player will already know most of what is written in this book. (Be quiet while people are teeing off and putting, replace your divots, etc.) People starting from absolute scratch and who don't know any other players will benefit the most from this book.

Summary: Where was this book when I started?
Review: I can still remember the confusion and discomfort I felt when I first played golf in a business environment. Not sure of the rules and proper etiquette, I committed several embarrassing gaffes. If only I had been able to read this little book first! Although aimed primarily at female beginners , this gem offers excellent advice for neophytes of both sexes. Heartily recommended.

Summary: Naked on the First Tee
Review: I have the pleasure of organizing and escorting Ladies Golf groups. Last year, Ann Kelly accompanied us as our "celebrity best-selling authour". As a gift to all our participants we gave out a copy of "Naked on The First Tee". We all found the handy pocket size to be convenient, as we frequently referred to it throughout our long weekend. The book is ideal for anyone who wants to know the rules and etiquette of golf in a traditionally male-dominated sport. With the knowledge gleaned from this book, you can golf with seasoned golfers - even if your score is higher. You can also learn to talk the lingo and feel comfortable, as you become a confident golfer or just a networker in the golf circles. I would highly recommend this book for any beginner golfer who wants to learn the basics and understand all the fundamentals. Summary: Ann Kelly's Book...
Review: I think this book is a "must" for all golfers (Women & Men) as
it removes most problems encountered on today's crowded golf courses before they occur. It has been written in a simple, understandable form and covers golf from etiquette, rules, dress code and equipment selections. I believe it will be very helpful to all levels of golfers and will obviously creat a high 'comfort-level' for new golfers...

Review: I thought Naked on the first tee was a terrific book for both the new and experienced golfer. It is chalked full of useful and esential info.In particular I liked the rules and etiquette section. With so many new golfers at the game we no longer need to feel confused. Thanks Ann for writing a little on the game that fits no neatly in your bag.

Summary: Great Stocking Stuffer
Review: Many women are attracted to golf and, before they know it, they are in love with it! Why? ...because it is a game of finness and skill coupled with so much to learn about (rules, game plan, equipment, techniques, strategies, etc.) as they refine their sport. Thanks to Kelly's Pink Book, any woman can get a head start on the basics - which for a long time don't seem that basic! The handy, easy to pack along, guide is written with humour and wisdom. Although it is for the new golfer, what it offers lasts long past the first couple of games. I highly recommend it for all ages and wouldn't be surprised if some brothers or spouses are tempted to sneak a peek before they stuff their sister's, mom's or wife's stocking this December.

Review: My boyfriend gave me this book because I am a beginning golfer and I might say I was quite insulted. Of all the books he could have purchased he bought a little pink book called NAKED on the first tee. Thought it was pretty demeaning from the getgo. The book is very breif with little truly useful information. I went out and purchased a couple of books by Dave Pelz. They may not be directed to women but have plenty of useful information for both sexes and I don't have to look at anything PINK & NAKED.
