Summary: Back where I started. Not exactly what I bargained for.
Review: I bought this book as a gift for my brother who was looking for information on finding a new agent in the U.S and abroad, how to approach agents, how to find quality agents, information about affiliations, training/try-out camps etc. Unfortunately this book offers no information in that department. Instead it assumes you are being recruited from a college team, which is of little use to semi-professional athletes, or those who are well out of college.

If you're looking for semi-interesting anecdotes and examples of the business end of sports, check this book out of the libarary and give it a read. If you want specific or practical info to get you started or point you in the right direction this is not the book for you.

Summary: Primer for athletes, parents, attorneys, would-be agents
Review: Used by major colleges such as Penn State and Illinois to educate their athletes about the perils and pitfalls in selecting and working with agents and other advisers. Written for the athlete and his or her family and advisers as well as would-be agents. Filled with examples (only the indicted or convicted are named) and supplemented with sample contracts, explanation of sports drafts, and salary tables.
