Rating: Summary: A good book which gives lots of information on pp fighting. Review: Many people just want to learn how to beat someone up. Mr Dillman shows the most efective and 'sometimes' humain methods of controling a situation. The book is mearly a tool in discovering the finer details of PP fighting. Having studied Acupuncture and Martial arts for a large portion of my life I feel strongley that the information given is of great importance to any martial artist. Having been KO'ed by some of these points I can Guarentee that these techniques DO work. The problem is not the techniques that are taught by Mr Dillman but by people having "Tunnel Vission" with regards their martial arts. A thoroughly enjoyable book and a recommended read for any one with an interest in martial arts and PP fighting, although it does help to have a bit of knowledge about how the body functions both in western medicine and in Chinese philosophy also. Well done Mr Dillman.
Rating: Summary: Interesting stuff - but mostly esoteric Review: Nicely structured book for the theoretically interested martial artists It is interesting to read, but don't depend on that stuff when the going get's tough - have you ever seen someone in the Ultimate Fighting Championships to pressure point-knockout someone? See. Mr. Dillman may not be a fraud - but his fighting system surely is. Why do people always claim to have the ultimate fighting system?
Rating: Summary: very disappointing Review: ok where to begin, I am so disapointed. These techniques are completely ridiculous. Buy this book if you want to get killed, or offer it as a gift to your worst enemy. but I guess u can beleave whatever you want, and a good thing is confidence so if you're confident these things will work it's better than nothing, then maybe you can inflict one of his kentuky fried chicken techniques that causes pain in the arm (SO WHAT) and hope your oponent is really drunk (but then maybe he wont feel pain, oh wait what's the point of doing that in the first place anyway) I'll try to put a REAL obvective critic on the book itself. it's a nice book, with a nice image on it, but the images inside are all black and white (probably, I went trought that real fast and I'm returning it right away) and there is lots of blank spaces, but that would'nt be too bad if the space that is used was used to show something usefull... DON'T BUY IT
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Explanations without mystery Review: Professor Dillman clears the air and takes some of the mystery out of what has been hidden. More correctly he gets the reader to shift their paradigm and look within their own arts. Clear diagrams, pictures and a sometimes murky text but an excellent treaties on the subject of pressure point knockouts. One of three volumes, and you should get all three. Attending one of his seminars helps make the text more understandable.
Rating: Summary: You can stop a inferior agressor w/o hurting him or you. Review: Studying this book gives me confidence in stopping any of my teenage friends from trying to pick a fight, when they know I can stop it from starting. If you have a teenager always trying to hurt you but never can. Now you'll know how to stop him/her from hurting you at all and you can feel glad you can stop him/her from doing that without you causing him/her from being hurt.
Rating: Summary: naihanchi secrets told; Review: the kata naihanchi will come to life as never before during the read of this book.the applications are very good and useful. once again dillman has a winner.
Rating: Summary: Take what you can from this book.. then leave it Review: There is no doubt Dillman know his stuff. This book can be used as a reference source for finding pressure points. Yet he just scratches the surface. Every book demonstrating pressure points to destroy an opponent should also demostrate how to revive an opponent (not say "read my first book", truth is the first book didn't have much either). Spend some time stressing the damage and responsibility that comes along with the use of pressure points. Be wary the over-hyping of this book. It seems many American authors on Karate books are set on proving their ego and flashing their colorful gis. Take what you can from the book then laugh at his series of useless "publicity bragging" photos at the beginning of tahe book.

Rating: Summary: It will change your way of thinking about the Martial Arts! Review: This book has an excellent presentation of the nerve anatomy. Master Dillman clearly demonstrates the correct ways of striking these nerve areas along with explinations of effects and dangers. I picked up a autographed copy of this book in 1994 after attending one of his seminars. At that seminar I personaly experienced a pressure point knockout by the author. Durring the signing of the book I commented to Master Dillman that I was skeptical at first but now felt I had wasted 17 yrs. of martial arts training by not being exposed to pressure points. The book is an excellent start for any martial artist who wants to learn the pressure points and understand there applications. If your going to buy a book on pressure points, DO'NT PASS THIS ONE UP!......DAVID KNIESS 3rd Dan
Rating: Summary: far from convincing or realistic Review: This book is another yet reformulation and compilation of various systems' knowledge geared to the current market and desires. A little analysis of the techniques depicted shows them to be as dangerous (to the executor, not the assailant) as the "bad" techniques or interpretationns he criticises. So it's dangerous for those who don't know anything about martial arts, and useless for those who do know something. While it's an ingenious and alluring idea/system he proposes, and although I'm sure Dillman himself is a dangerous man, this book looks like being part of a commercial enterprise rather than a useful technical manual.
