Summary: The most beautiful pictures of any baseball park book!
Review: A really beautiful coffee table book with pictures I've never seen before of just about all of the parks. Like the other recent ballpark books though, there are some factual errors (i.e. the renovation of the Oakland Coliseum happened in 1996, not 1998).
It's the huge color pictures that really capture the unique look of each park that makes this book special. A color picture of the Polo Grounds taken from the third base side during a game is most unique of the bunch.
I'm a little puzzled as to why the author included 1991 dimensions on all the parks that were in use during that season - has this been a ten year project to put together?

Summary: ...take me out to the ballgame!!! (please)
Review: As a life-long baseball fan, I enjoy visiting ballparks around the country whenever I can. This book is wonderful! The pictures are fantastic and so are the interesting bits of trivia and information. I haven't yet bought my own copy of this book, but did buy it as a present for my father, who shares my love of baseball. The book is right next to his favorite chair where he can check it out while the ballgame is on. I enjoy thumbing through it trying to plan the next vacation where I can sneak in a game....If you are a baseball fan, or have one on your shopping list, this would be the perfect gift (short of World Series tickets for your home team).

Summary: Great pictures and facts, needs more research though
Review: As an aficiando of baseball parks, this book has some great photos of baseball parks past and present. It also provides some nice facts as to the ballparks. My only complaint is that Rosen does not do as much research as needed, and that he doesn't give some stadiums the credit they are due. For example, he claims that Oriole fans never had much affection for old Memorial Stadium and were glad to see it go. Quite the contrary, Oriole fans were very sad to see the old ballpark go, and some even lead efforts to save it. Despite these problems, there are some great baseball history facts, quotes, and excellent photos.

Summary: Stadiums left out
Review: I am disappointed that Braves Field, Griffith Stadium, and RFK Stadium were left. I could care less about Jarry Park, Colt Stadium, LA Coliseum, and Seals Stadium.

Summary: Unreal Book, Loved It !
Review: I can spend hours , over and over ,reading and perusing the pictures in this book. Bravo to the writer who photographed and toured Major League parks throughout America, one of my dreams. The interviews about each park and the photos make this a "must own" to every fan of our National Pastime. This book will make a great gift for the upcoming holiday season. Thanks Ira Rosen!

Summary: Great but Bad
Review: I think the book should have or at least Miller Park and P.N.C. Park. Witch would be good becuse,I'm a BIG Brewers fan.
But the book could have LESS on Fenway and Yankee stadium's.
Blue Skies and Green Fields is over all a GREAT book!!!

Summary: Nice Pictures , horrible text
Review: Ira Rosen is a fine photographer. That being said it is amazing this book was published. There are countless errors, mainly chronological. He rarely got the right year of openings and closures of stadiums. Inexcusable. The quotes of players and other personalities don't make up for the errors however.
