Summary: Couldn't put it down
Review: As a former swimmer and as a parent of 3 age-groups swimmers I figured this book would provide some insight into success. However, i didn't anticipate how much insight I would take away from it. It is truly amazing how much Ms. Sanders had been able to accomplish in her life and it is refreshing to see that someone so young had everything in the proper perspective.

Hats off to her parents for raising and supporting (without pushing) Summer to accomplish all that she set out to do. I see the parents on the side of the pool who constantly push their kids so much so that they ultimately push them totally out of the pool all together. This is a fantastic how-to book for parents, regardless of what their kids are into.

Summary: Summer Sizzles
Review: Every parent, especially those who appear to be living vicariously through their athletic or talented children, should read this carefully from cover to cover. It should help anyone understand the treatment that a talented child should receive. Furhtermore, as a swim parent, it provided interesting reading that I could easily relate to.

Summary: Invaluble Book...
Review: I bought Summer's book because I didn't want to put it down, I wanted to read it over and over, and I want to pick it up from time to time over the next several years. When I become a father I'll want my kids to excel where their abilities lie but most importantly, to do it for the right reasons. It's invaluble to read a book that was written by a champion both in her sport and in her life. Thanks Summer.

Summary: Overachievers
Review: I really enjoyed this book and Summer has helped me keep my daughter's goals in perspective. I have a 9 year old over achiever who doesn't need pushed but needs encourgement and wants us as parents to comment on her achievements. I have learned that not only verbalizing our comments but showing her through our actions that we approve of her achievements. I learned that through this book. I picked this book up because of the attachment to swimming, but it definately carries over into all corners of our lives.

Summary: You must read this book!
Review: I wanted to preview a few chapters of the book before I gave it to my 10 year old daughter for Christmas. Needless to say, I read it from cover to cover. Summer Sanders writes, in plain English, about her parents' roll in her successful swimming career. This book should be required reading for any parent who has a child who participates in sports!
