Rating: Summary: Too simplistic in most respects to be of value Review: The book is perfect for those who are beginning to consider how to extend the limits of 'recreational' diving'. Basic Open Water, Advanced, Master Diver, etc, courses progressively introduce you to some of the more technical aspects of diving, but not in great detail. This book covers much of the theory behind accepted recreational practices, how to extend the recreational limits, and the risks associated with pushing the limits. I found it to be a perfect follow-up to what I was taught in my certification courses, without watering down the material as much as is found in those courses.

Rating: Summary: The Essentials of Deeper Sport Diving, by John Lippmann Review: This book covers a wide range of decompression and DCS topics. It is an outstanding book on the more technical aspects of diving. (I wont lend this one out !)
Rating: Summary: A good Intro to deeper sport diving Review: This book was a useful introduction, actually a great deal more detail than in an introduction, to deeper rec. diving. Very useful technical information.
Rating: Summary: a bit out of date Review: when I bought this book (some years back) I would have given it 5 stars, but all deco info is now very out of date, check dive computers reviewed on index page! otherwise a very god book that is an easy read. For more up to date info check Technical Diving in Depth (Bruce R Weinke) this has every thing you might want to know but is very technical and not (I find) an easy read.
