Summary: A fair guide but honestly I expected more...
Review: A fair guide but honestly I expected more. As a new surfer, I found surfing much more physical than I expected. I bought this book for help. The strength ie weight-lifting excerises that ddominate the bulk of the book seem excessive for a young surfer. This seems more like a coach training guide for team surfers. To each their own but I expected more and prob wont use this book much.

Summary: Review from a fourty-something seasoned surfer
Review: As a long time surfer with over 30 years of water time I began to realize that my performance in the line up was deteriorating do to a lack of fitness. Although I get out to surf on a regular basis, my strength, stamina , and flexibility were keeping me from ripping the way I did in my earlier days. After following the "Fit to Surf" program I have noticed a marked improvement not only in my surfing, but in my overall energy level as well. I'd recommend all thirty or fourty-something surfers looking to improve their surfing fitness level, or even beginners wanting to get in shape, to pick up a copy.

Summary: East Coast Surfer is "Fit to Surf"
Review: As a resident of NH, I wasn't getting out as much this past winter to surf because of all the harsh, cold weather we had. As a result, my flexibility, strength and endurance seemed to have gone south with the warmer waters. A friend sent me a copy of "Fit to Surf". After engaging in the exercise program, I found I was much more flexible. My energy level was heightened and I felt more alive. So, when I took to the waves in March, I felt stronger and more confident than ever before. I'll never sit out another east coast winter again! Awesome!

Summary: i didn't like it
Review: hate to say it, but i wish i read my review before i shelled out the $ for this book -- seems to me that rocky is jumping on the "surfing explosion" bandwagon. the book did not help me. i did not find anything useful. everything seemed awfully obvious to me. oh well.

Summary: Personal Experiance
Review: Having personally trained with Rocky Snyder for the last 8 years, I can attest to the results and benefits of his knowledge and expertise. In short, this book is a fantastic extension of those qualities.

Long gone are the days of youth, when you can pick up your favorite sport without stretching, warming up, and developing the proper strength to compete. Through Rocky's guidance I have continued to participate in all my favorite sports, and with his books and instruction, I plan on staying active in the years to come.

Summary: Great Book-
Review: I bought this book for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day..I figured he'd get some good use out of it, but I had no idea he would really get so much out of this book. He read the book and picked out the areas he wanted to work on, and set himself up with a routine that he does, and since he knows that these particular moves are aiding his surfing ability and endurance, he had no trouble at all sticking to them! If you're already a body builder, this book is no good for you. It's more for the person who exercises regularly, but didn't really have a form and routine to follow to make the most of it, and get the most out of it. Makes a great gift for a surfer who needs a little more endurance, or it just starting out, or one who just needs something to keep them in surf shape during those cold winter months, or those poor surf days!

Summary: Long-Time Surfer Begins Workout Program
Review: I loved this book! It's just what I have been looking for. I am a long-time surfer, but have never been much of an exerciser. As I age, I realize that exercise is more and more important if I want to continue surfing without injury. A friend turned me on to Rocky's book and I will be forever grateful. I am now working out at home using free weights and feel so much stronger and confident on the waves. I also like that Rocky is a personal trainer because I know he has had success with the exercises he put in this book.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK
Review: I was so disapointed with this book. It was a complete waste of money. It is totally useless to even the most amateur surfer. It's hard to believe this book was written by someone with an education. The book tells you to do pushups in order to get better at popping up onto your board. Come on, how stupid do you think your readers are? How 'bout this: give me 15 bucks and i'll tell you how to get into better shape for surfing...uhhh excercise. in addition to the the poor content, you can tell the book's a joke just by the oversized fonts, the poor layout and the diagrams and pictures were ridiculous. A child could have laid this book out better. Good Job Rocky!
