Summary: A sturdy and useful guide
Review: This is a very nice, condensed, and illustrated guide to backpacking that covers the basics. The drawings and photos really help illustrate the techniques that are described.The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it seems a bit heavy to actually carry while backpacking, when you're trying to minimize every ounce. (To be fair, the book itself is very sturdy and should withstand a fair amount of travel wear, so that may have been the factor in choice of binding and materials).
