Rating: Summary: Great starting place for teaching kids to fly fish Review: Here is a book that is put together to help anybody get started teaching (learning as you go)the great sport of fly fishing. Mr Genova has compiled a format to include saltwater and fresh water fly fishing. Not only has he set up a format that will work he has included what is needed in supplies and equipment and where to obtain help. He included 'side bars' these side bars are comments and tips from many well known persons in the fly fishing world a long with some from his students. This book will be a guide long after you have several classes behind you. It is a teacher/instructors guide and sets an order to follow when teaching. Not just kids but anybody that wants to learn. With chapters on fly tying, fly casting, and bug collecting, from the class room to the landing of the fish Mr, Genove has covered what you should know and how to help teach the fundlementals and the ethics of the sport. There is only black and white pictures and drawings, no color prints. The format some times leaves you jumping around. As with any sport there are many ways to do some things he only cover some of them. My copy will guide me for years to come. As a FFF Certified Fly Casting Instructor I will keep this book for MY referance book.
