Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good anthology
Review: A good anthology of mountaineering and rock climbing writing. Nothing gripping, but interesting none-the-less. Confirms stories written by others, John Long for example. It's good to hear all sides of a story.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: child is the most literate climber in history!
Review: greg child is the most literate climber in history, far more readable than his peers. reading his books is like going along on the expedition on his shoulder, seeing the climb, the preliminaries, the peripheries of surrounding socieites and experiences. it is like paer virtual reality. best of all, his multi-focus shows he is aware of more than just the climb or his own performance--while bringing it all to life with technicalities and dramas and compassion and pragmatism, and an obvious struggle to be constantly fair to everyone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One awsome book, a must read for any climber!
Review: I love this book. Greg is so amazing with his writing in that he puts you on the mountain with himself. It's awsome and motivational. This book is worth twice the cost of the paper-back for most people, and is priceless for a climber.

Review: This guy has got to be one of my favorite mountain literature authors...

Greg's excellent writing skills put you right in the action with dialogues, exacting characterizations and dry humour born from too many harrowing first ascents on big peaks. His partners are well known and it's great to get a peek at their personalities through Greg's eyes.

When you're done, read it again then pick up his other paperback: Thin Air.
