Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a great read
Review: Even if you're legs were recently sawed off, I'd still recommend this book. Maps aside, it's a great read for anyone interested in mountain biking.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good alternative to Zilly
Review: Ignore the CD - if you want it you can buy it anywhere (e.g. REI), or buy proper paper maps!

However the rides are described really well - the profile matches the simple route maps really well and demonstrates just how many NW rides are HILLY.

The step descriptions on the routes are good, and the distances accurate (so far!).

Things to watch out for: 1) Tiger is the closest ride to Seattle in the book, a couple of more 'after workers' would be good. 2) The directions to some of the rides are not too good, although this is mostly due to lack of road numbering etc in Forestry and out of the way areas.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great rides and great maps.
Review: Mountain Bike Washington is a must have for any mountain bike enthusiast wishing to explore this beautiful region. The maps are innovative and the shaded relief gives one a real feel for the lay of the land. This book is a tour guide as much as it is a mountain bike guide.

Summary: Mountain Bike Washington is entertaining and comprehensive.
Review: The Washington edition of the Mountain Bike America series provides valuable technical information within an entertaining writing style. After reading this guidebook, one wants to head out and experience the beauty and challenging terrain of Washington State.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best guide on the market
Review: This book is loaded with GPS topo maps, meticulously made maps of each trail, trail profiles, great descriptions, detailed directions, and great graphics. Not to mention all the other information it's packed with, such as other stuff to do in the area where each ride is located. If you can only buy one guide, I think this one is perfect. The CD at the back is an added bonus, which adds no cost to the book, but it's maps aren't necessary b/c there's so many high quality maps packed into the pages of the book.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A good book describing many great mountain bike rides.
Review: This book is organized well, with maps and descriptions that make it easy to find and follow the trails it describes. One word of warning however - the CD that comes with the book only has the map for one of the rides that's in the book. It'll cost you another $34.50 if you want to access the maps for all the other rides...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Highly innovative with great maps and solid information.
Review: This is one of the most innovative guidebooks I've found anywhere. It's a great addition to my collection. The amazing shaded relief maps of each ride and 3D renderings are incredible and the information provided far exceeds what most guidebooks provide. The CD-ROM included with this book (produced by Maptech), containing USGS maps for all the rides, is a perfect marriage of digital technology and print (the first ride is free, but the remainder of the CD must be unlocked at a charge of $34.50). Very cool book! I'll look for all the others in this series as they come out. Thanks Beachway Press.

Summary: Great Guide--Only One Flaw!
Review: Very detailed comments on each ride. The authors have included relevant information on surrounding communities (ie laundry facilities, camping, dining, etc). Great maps!
The only thing wrong with this book is a somewhat confused idea of what is East or West of the Cascades. I looked under the "East" section and was astonished at how few rides there were. It took me a while to realize that most of the good "East" rides are actually in the "West" sections. Somewhat distracting.

Highly recommended!
