Rating: Summary: What a surprise! Review: As I am one of the featured authors in this books ("the sport's leading women writers!") you'd think that the publisher would have bothered to tell me about it. No, I discovered this just now, three years later, accidentally in a web search. I was still more surprised to find that the chapter entitled "Riding with Confidence" that I supposed changed my first flat tire while riding with a friend named Ann and actually tried to get someone named Eric to drive out and help us. A nice little tale, and maybe it happened to someone, but not to me. The day that I would have asked someone to drive to help me fix a flat tire - well, I would have had to have had two broken arms. You can ask my mom. So maybe this book is great. Seeing chapters with my name on them with chunks of stuff I did not write (I did write the stuff after the long intro, for a Bicycling magazine article) makes me wonder how the rest of the book holds together and how many more cute little tales didn't really happen at all ...

Rating: Summary: Another burned author Review: Like Sara, I also discovered an article of mine was used in this book without my authorization. In addition, changes were made to the text and titlc. The editor and Rodale Press has violated U.S. Copyright law by this unauthorized use and will be sued. Do not buy this book.
