Summary: Concise carry along book
Review: Excellent book for bringing along to the rock and practicing with friends.
It is thin enough to fit alongside your guide book in your pack.
It is concise enough so you don't get lost in lots of reading.
It covers all the knots I use and a few more.
Of course, you should practice the knots before you go up the rock.

Summary: indispensible, easy to use, thorough manual!
Review: I've just aquired this new edition "knots for climbers" and it is great! The descriptions are clear and easy to follow and the illustrations help to elucidate the procedures. I particularly like how the photos show a given knot in a relevant climbing usage. Other bonuses are: understandable explanations of the different ropes, fall factor, UIAA testing and other usually tough to grasp concepts regarding falls and one's safety gear. Of course the very resonable price doesn't hurt either. This manual, as is also "ADVANCED ROCK CLIMBING" (Long, Luebben), is a must have, indispensible TOOL for anyone who is serious about being a knowledgeable, safe, and self sufficient climber, rapeller or the like. I will use this in my personal climbing and reccomend it to others as well.

Summary: Amazing knots to begginers
Review: It's a excelente book for people who wants to learn the most important anchor and safety knots. The book explain very well how can you do this knots using a lot of pictures

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not bad, but there's a better book
Review: Normally I recommend any book in the "How to Rock Climb" series but the drawings of the knots in this book are not so easy to see as in another knot book: "Knots and Ropes for Climbers."

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Knot a good manual
Review: Skimpy, poorly illustrated, a genuinely cavalier and flip tone mark this book as a disappointment. Though it's OK for advanced climbers who desire a cursory review of the range of climbing knots, bends and hitches available, this book is absolutely worthless for beginners. Get Knots & Ropes for Climbers by Duane Raleigh, it's much clearer, better illustrated, more fun to read and learn from.

Summary: an excellent instruction manual
Review: This book contains all the common (and some not-so-common) knots used in modern rock climbing. The illustrations are very clear, making the book very easy to use.
