Rating: Summary: Einstein did it. JFK did it. Michelle Pfeiffer does it. Review: Riding a bike that is. While there's no guarantee that it will make you smart, powerful, or beautiful, it's a good bet that riding will make you fitter and happier. Pedaling a bike is one of life's great joys, a way to propel yourself just a little faster than Mother Nature ever intended. When you're in the saddle, you're moving fast enough to cover some serious ground, but slowly enough to still smell the roses. What could be better than that? For starters, the fact that bicycling may just be the perfect exercise. The good news is that bicycling is better than ever. Bikes of all kinds are lighter, more comfortable, and more user-friendly. Mountain bikes have opened up a whole new world of places to ride. Even accessories-from helmets to locks to child carriers-have improved. It all adds up to a lot of excitement. And maybe a little confusion. That's where Bicycling for Dummies comes in. This book answer the three big it breaks, and how to have more fun while you're riding. Along the way, you'll find out how to stay safe on the road or trail, how to get your kids hooked on cycling, how to get fit and burn more calories, and even a VCR alert to the best bike scenes in the movies. In short, you'll find everything you need to get rolling and join the fun.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT PLACE TO GET STARTED Review: This book has to be the best general guide for cycling. It takes you through all the steps of how to buy the bike that suits you, what accessories to get and what not to waste money on. It also explains how to setup your bike properly before you take your first ride. All in an easy to understand everyday English. I would recommend only to beginners, but veterans may find some useful information as well.
