Review: This book by Tate is really excellent research. The time and effort to dig out all of the details of even obscure Birmingham gunmakers was well spent. The book is actually a lot "thicker" than its appearance would have you believe. The photos are absolutely gorgeous. They are worth the price of the book. There are surprises in the book, too. Wait till you find out who actually built many of the name "London Best" guns. Well worth the money and if you're an English double fan you really can't be without this book. M. D. Beale, Jr.
