Review: I will start off by saying that this book is awesome. It has everything a beginner needs to become better equiped for the outdoors. The topics cover are broad, but very informative. I would definetly recommend this book to anyone looking for survival/wilderness books, but if you are looking for more depth on to certain issues, than look for something else. In conclusion, The books great, covers multiple issues, a must for beginners.

Review: One of the best outdoor references(aka Coffee Table size),to prepare for the Great Outdoor Experience. It has it all inside....First Aid; Survival; Hints and Tricks for the unusual situations that one encounters outside. I have my well read copy next to the sofa; and although its next to the sofa; the knowledge gleaned from its informative pages sticks inside the mind and is a great tool for coping when one does "Strike Out" into the Great Outdoors. If you love the Wilderness...Buy It! It will always be a treasured copy to review...

Review: This book contains a little bit of everything for the camper & camp site. No, it's not the see all end all with total detail on every subject, but it is a great overall camping book, touching nearly every subject a camper might be interested in. It is a great book to carry on a family trip, taking the place of multiple books. I have just purchased my third copy to give as a gift & I highly recommend it, especially for family campers!

Summary: Great Idea - lousy information
Review: This book could save your life if you ever needed to get a caribou or an antelope from a deaf indian. Or if you need to start a fire and have nothing but matches, a candle, kindling, and wood. Other than that, buy any other book. This book has a great layout - The windows and boxes with diagrams and short wording are much easier to read than paragraphs (yeah, I'm a magazine reader, not a novel reader). But the information is mostly useless and some is utter nonsense. Some of the others who said it would be a good kid's toy were right. This author would do well to bring his format to someone who knows what should be in a book like this.
