Summary: A Useless text book
Review: I just received this Brother iron and Sister steel text book from amazon. i bought it because i read other buyers opinion. When i got it, i was in hurry and opened it. However, it wasnt what i expect it to be. Ok. Here is my opinion, this book doesn't have any performing pic. Plus, this book is about the author wat he had been through. Its none of my business because im not him. Different people have diferent abilities, so they are not the same. for instance, some are tall, and some are short. Some eat alot and other eat a bit of food. Further, some may not intake that much work out while others intaking. consequently, there is only one way to solve wat u really need to work is to get to know ur body by going to ur local gym. IF u want to learn proper techniques, i recommend u go to join ur local gym. This book doesn't give u anything important detail. All it gives are routines, nutrition, and dream. That is all. if u r a serious, i recommend u to get another book that gives u everything. Oh yeah, there's a flawless by author BOb paris text book out there. The flawless text book give u everything before u start ur own work out. For example, routines, pics performing, thoughts, and tips. Here is my tip, if u r a curious trainer, making a commiment to urself. If u secceed it, getting something to celebrate as a reward. like, movies, video games, or mall.

Summary: Brother Iron Sister Steel is by far the best for anyone
Review: I read this book when it first came out last year and find that I am constantly going back in to review certain exercises or nutritional info. The exercises are for beginners, advanced and competitive body builders or weighlifters. The nutritional advise is plain and simple, with no extravigant diets or special foods to purchase.

When I had first to read about Dave Draper it was a few years ago when he was winning his titles. I was a few years younger but I felt as though I was following an icon, kind of like Steve Reeves or Reg Parks. Who knew he would continue to be that thoughtful and caring icon today. He didn't get an over inflated ego like some people.

Daves words flowed from the pages as though I was still listening to him, talking directly to me. I have had that honor, and he really is a great person. I will probably need another copy of "Brother Iron Sister Steel" again and I hope when I order it Dave signs it like he did the first one. He continues to talk to IOL members on his DaveDraper.com website. So get the book, get to know Dave and get in touch with his group.

Summary: Like getting brotherly advice
Review: I've been involved in bodybuilding weightlifting for some 20 years and have purchased and read almost everything written on the subject. Dave was one of the first bodybuilders whose physique really inspired me. Imagine what a treat then it is for me to read his book which is written in a style that makes me feel like I'm sitting down and chatting with him personally ! Not only is this book complete in it's scope of information on all aspects of bodybuilding and training but Dave's comfortable writing style, humor, and love of life make this a must read book for anyone interested in improving themselves - men and women and of all ages..

Summary: Best of the Best
Review: I've been on Dave Draper's mailing list for his weekly article for over a year. The arival of a few paragraphs of 'from the trenches' writing from Dave is the e-mail highlight of my week. Dave has the time put in to not give the easy answers (as most authors do) but to dig deep and give the hard ones, too. Brother Iron, Sister Steel is a big ball of knowledge, motivation, and an abiding love of the Iron Game. It sits on the top shelf of the Iron Books, with Keys to Progress, Super Squats, and Paul Kelso's Powerlifting Basics, Texas Style as books about weight training that have helped me more than a book should be able to.

Bomb on, Dave!

Summary: Motivational and Honest
Review: I've been weight training for over 20 years. After a while all the bodybuilding books seem to have been written by the same person, and have the same advice. Not this one. It gave me a motivational jolt, and I'm fired up again to hit the weights. There are many ideas in the book I'm trying for the first time, and these training changes are helping me get to where I want to be.
I think this really isn't a beginners book...it's a tale of the methods and ideas Dave has found useful for himself from his decades of traing and managing a gym. It gets us old trainers out of our ruts. Take the journey with him...and grow.

Summary: Good book on Bodybuilding
Review: I've read many bodybuilding books and Dave Draper's is one of the better ones. He writes enthusiastically about bodybuilding and mixes in some nice descriptions of the "good old days" when the sport was a much different animimal than it is today.

I also believe that Dave has some excellent advice to share and a solid plan for beginners, intermediates, and advanced weight lifters.

However, I take a star away because the one major flaw of Dave's book is his poor descriptions of the exercises and the lack of pictures to explain the proper form of each and every exercise. Another problem is that he has some unique names for some of his exercises and they're even difficult to look up in other book or on the web. If this would get correct, I'd give it 5-stars.

All in all, this is a worthwhile read that just about anyone can get some benefit from.

Review: I've read this book cover to cover about 5 times.
Dave has a no nonsenese, no filler, writing style
that is candid and to the point.
His writings are inspirational and will get you motivated
to get to the gym! He has some good routines and ideas
that you can't find anywhere else.
Get this book and get Arnold's Encyclopedia and you'll
have everything you need!

Summary: Buy this book!
Review: If you are into bodybuilding or just thinking about getting into this lifestyle then I highly recommend this fantastic book. The reason I use the word "lifestyle" and not "sport" is that Dave Draper shows you that bodybuilding IS a way of life. I've read many other bodybuilding type books put out by some very famous names (will remain nameless) but Dave puts it all together. I can honestly say that Dave Draper helped me get my life on track. A great read, plain and simple.
