Summary: A must read for future stars or anyone who loves the game
Review: This a great book I read it at the end of my basketball season and it really inspired me. I enjoyed it. The book goes into great detail on the way and life of all the players and the town.

Summary: Take it from me a girl b-ball player this book is AWFUL
Review: This book did nothing for me.I read the reviews on how inspiring it was and all this and that. So I read it and I nearly died of boredom. Some inspiration! These girls are nothing out of the ordinary. If they wanted to write about some real inspirational girl basketball players, they could have went to Christ the King in NYC or Our Lady of Lourdes. Not only do those girls have pressures of winning a title every year, there pressures media wise are much tougher, as well as some of their problems as fas as I can tell. This book made me feel like these girls were prissy little preppies. Even my cousins 5th grade team went through more tribulation!

Summary: A fun and fast-paced read
Review: This book has it all: action, humor and heart. The author's ability to render complex characters with insight and respect is remarkable.

Summary: Beautiful story
Review: This book is beautiful. Not only does it capture the the beauty and wonder of womens' basketball, but it also captures the heart and soul of each player. Motivation is not something that is hard to find in these girls and as a result, this book is inspiring. And if you're not a basketball fan or player, this story is just plain good to read. I've read it atleast five times and I never get tired of the humor, inspiration and wonderful quality of writing. Anyone who can read it should.

Summary: This book was one of the best I've ever read.
Review: This book was exciting. It was about high school basketball at it's finest. My favorite basketball player, Jamila Wideman, is a main character in the book, so, of course, I loved it. Even if you hate basketball, you'll love it, it's hard not to. Madeline Blais is an excellent writer and I wish there were only more people to write as great as her.

Summary: One of the BEST books I have ever read!
Review: This book was outstanding! It was such a good story and it was really well written. If you are looking for some inspiration about basketball and teamwork then you should read this book! These girls are just amazing. What made this whole story better was the fact that it was a true story so you know that this REALLY happened. It was almost like a fairy tale- everything went as planned. I can't really describe my feelings for this book, it was incredible. When Jenny hugged her dad after the game I almost cired. Everyone should read this book whether they like basketball or not! I would also like to wish Jamila Wideman a happy birthday! She will be turning 24 on October 16. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMILA!!

Summary: Hoped for More Muscle
Review: This was probably a great magazine article before being padded out with geography and feminism history lessons. The story of the team and girls is great, but too much non-basketball stuff. Also more about the years they didn't win to set the stage would have been nice.

Summary: The Best Book Ever Written About a Womens' Basketball Team
Review: This was the best book I think that was ever written about a womens' basketball team, let alone about a high school team. Blais did a wonderful job describing the high times and the low times of this small-town group of girls, many of which continued on to play big-time basketball, including former Stanford basketball All-American and current Women's Professional Basketball Association (WNBA) star, Jamila Wideman

Summary: Buy this for your daughter!
Review: What a charming story - and a powerful message! I plan to buy this for each of my neices. This text is pleasant for adults and understandable for advanced pre-teens. They stand to learn quite a lot from it.
