Summary: Nice compilation of exercises...
Review: After reading "Look Great Naked" I wasn't sure how this book would be, but since I was looking for something specifically targeting the upper body I decided to give it a try. This book is a useful source of advice for upper body training. Schoenfeld provides a nice array of exercises for the shoulders, chest, biceps and triceps, though I would have appreciated more guidelines on starting weight ranges for the exercises. There are pictures to help guide you and ensure you are doing the exercises properly.

His nutritional advice is somewhat better in this book than in his others, and while some of the recipes are duplicates from his other books, there are a few new additions that are more palatable. He outlines a carb depletion/carb loading plan to follow if you have a "big event" coming up and want to look your best (though I'm not sure how good of an idea the plan really is, health-wise). As with many fitness books, this one has a number of useful tips that I have made use of, and a lot of filler that I could have done without. If you've already read "Look Great Naked", a lot of his advice will be redundant as he's obviously just copied some of the general chapters from that book. Overall, the exercises are good and get the job done.

Summary: Great upper body workouts
Review: I have read all of Brad Schoenfeld's books and think he is one of the best fitness authors around. He explains things in a very understandable fashion and his approach is very cutting edge. This book is particularly good. It has specific workouts for the upper body muscles. Those who own his book, "Look Great Naked" will be familiar with a good deal of the material as he uses the same basic principles to create the routines (combining 3 different exercises that work different parts of the muscle). The exercises are very unique. I've been training for a long time and never even heard of some of them. He gives lots of alternatives for variety which is good because it stops you from getting bored. I will be using these workouts as part of my routine for many years to come.

Summary: be buff now!
Review: I love this book! It is very well written and extremely easy to follow. I was on weight watchers and going to the gym when I hit a huge plateau, that last 20 lbs just wasn't budging. When I say gym, I mean religiously, 3-4 day's a week for at leat 2 hours sometimes more. On weight Watchers I was eating excactly what I was supposed to. So I tried this. Not only did he explain why I wasn't getting results at the gym, but he also explained why I wasn't getting results with the diet part. I kept to my points but tweaked my food intake around and did the workout as per the book and... viola! The weight came off and I have definition! Yippee! I also bought the other book "Look Great Naked". Again, the workouts were great, but the nutrition information was exactly the same (I beleive he states that somewhere) I wish he would have put both books together... oh well. Good luck to all of you trying this!

Review: I was not aware that you need to be a member of a gym in order to make the most of this workout. I wish I had know that before I bought the book. How to look great sleeveless- go to a gym, hire a trainner and return this book.
