Rating: Summary: Out of Date Review: "A Complete History of Paintball" would be a better title.

Rating: Summary: Ultimate Paintball Field Guide (for newbies) Review: Dont get me wrong, this isnt a bad guide to paintball. It covers all the basics very well and has specific sections for both recball and tourney players. However if you have a few years worth of experiance under your belt chances are you already know everything that this book has to offer. For Newbies- 5 stars For seasoned ballers- 3 stars
Rating: Summary: paint ballers guide Review: i think this is a great book for any paintballer. Especialy the newbies. great strategies. i practily live by this book. its the best.i love it.
Rating: Summary: Great for the beginner, useful for the intermediate player. Review: If you have been playing paintball for a while this book covers a lot of what you already know but I bet you will learn some new stuff too (excellent chapter on barrel technology). If you are new or relatively new to paintball then this book is perfect for you. It covers a wide range of topics including how to buy new and used equipment. At about the cost of a hopper full of paint this book is a good deal. Get this book and save yourself some money, time, and pain!
Rating: Summary: Ironmen's Book Review: This book is awesome. Ive read it cover to cover many times and it has made me improve alot. I saw the ironmen using it at a tournament I went to!
Rating: Summary: Begginer Helper Review: This is a realy good guide if you are just starting or if you haven't started yet. It was not a help to me at all to me because i am a pretty expirianced player. The articles are written by expirianced players, but the book makes it seem like they are writing to begginers. I would not spend money on this if you are already got a grip on paintball, but it will help nonexpirianced players get a good idea, and if not, they could change the plan and have a complex stratigy! There were a whole lot of articles that got off the subject as well. The maker needs to make another book for more expirianced players to read and still get help or better ideas.
Rating: Summary: Excellent for Starters Review: This is an excellent starter guide. It lets experts guide the beginner through a great way to get started. More advanced players may be bored with the slower pace, but beginners will enjoy it and welcome some of the repetition. The title "Ultimate" does not mean "Complete". For that, I would get the "Complete Guide to Paintball" (2nd edition). Or, do what I did and get both.
Rating: Summary: Its an okay read but hardly ultimate.... Review: When you hear the word ULTIMATE GUIDE you expect to be pretty comprehensive. This book would have better been titled the GENERAL GUIDE.... I'm pretty new to paintball and even I didn't find too much to learn from this book. A perfect example is how it handles equipment. For an ULTIMATE guide you would expect it to talk about upgrades to markers. It should list the common upgrades and give a WHAT (what is the upgrade and a description), WHO (who should really look at this upgrade), PROS (what is good about getting this type of upgrade), and CONS (why you might not like this upgrade). This book instead spends alot of time talking about "my first tournament" and "paintball is one of the fastest growing sports..." Don't get me wrong. There are good things about this book as well. I liked the advanced formations chapter and beginner advice (don't brandish your paintball marker in public.....it may sound obvious but there is always that one idiot). As an ULTIMATE guide, however, it is lacking. You may want to check out the Complete Guide to Paintball. I haven't looked at it myself but at least the pictures are in color.Supposedly it has a listing of fields as well.
