Review: If you want to get a good burn in your abs, this is the book, Shawn also goes into the truth of having great abs....no BS no short cuts, just the truth. So if you can take it, then buy the book.....Its great reading

Summary: A Baby Boomer Becoming of Age
Review: I am a "becoming of fifty years old Lady" and have always been in shape. I must admit that in the last couple of years, the energy and desire to stay in shape has sometimes seem of least value and importance than other personal matters, such as business and finanical security. I was energized by Bill Phillps' "Body for Life", and have strived to achieved his goals of interpersonal and spiritual achievements within oneself. Shawn's book goes to the next step, in a way that a "normal" person can understand and follow. I can only hope that both Bill and Shawn Phillips will continue to provide all of us with their insight and enthusiasm as to living a healthy and exciting life.

Summary: Body for LIFE, part two
Review: As a former Body for LIFE Challenger in 1999 and a Top Finisher in 2000, I look at this book with a different pair of glasses. This book takes much the same path as Body for LIFE by Shawn's brother Bill. Shawn's right, it's not a gadget, a pill, or "the one thing" type exercise. Honestly, and people don't believe me, I got my six-pack abs (mind you, I'm a woman) from eating clean and I only do regular and oblique floor crunches. You gotta lose the fat, and that happens from eating right and cardio. Spot reduction is a myth, and genetics plays a huge role in the whole game. But you CAN overcome those obstacles. You have to be dedicated. I don't like some of the training splits, especially looking at this from the eyes of a beginner. Unless you are advanced or sport specific or lean already, you are better off going to Body for LIFE. I don't blame Shawn for writing a book on Abs since people always ask, but it's not something that I'll keep on my shelf and turn to often, especially for the beautiful, almost erotic, photography. I wish Shawn all the best with Isatori, his new supplement company. We need integrity in supplements.

Summary: Shawn Phillips Ab solution is the Best
Review: Ive just read a few pages of this book while im waiting for delivery on the book which i ordered on Tuesday. If you want to get an insite on what this book is about just go to the Look Inside section on top page. Im really looking forward to recieveing the book as ive been a big fan of Shawn Phillips and his brother Bill for along time now. Just look at Shawns Abs, they have to be the best ive seen, can you imagine walking along the beach with a set of 6pack like that, imagine the heads you would turn. This book is sure to be a five star, if you want to get in the best shape of your life, and work really hard to gain great Abs, i encourage you to buy this book, or listen to the body for life challenge or read the book, or even pick up an issue of Muscle Media. This has the power to improve the way you look at life, and in order to do that, you must change your body, which will give you more energy, give you more confidence, which will also impact other areas of your life. We are half way through June, make the rest of this year the year you decide to take charge of your body and your life. I hope this helps, id also encourage you to take the Body for life challenge, 12 weeks to a new you, but you must remember its not easy, its hard work, nothing in life is easy. So read this book, and take charge of your body and your life.

Summary: I WAS SKEPTICAL AT FIRST...
Review: Knowing this book was from the Phillips' brothers (Shawn and Bill), I was a little skeptical to pick it up. But after reading and hearing some reviews firsthand, I had to give it a read and see what Shawn had to say about "how he built those incredible abs!" Quit simply, I was amazed!! Not only was this book a pleasant, honest, and easy read; it had so many "aha's" contained in it -- the type of revelations that have only occured once or twice in my 15 plus years of weight-training -- that I learned more about exercise and nutrition from him [Shawn] than in all of the books and magazines of past. Shawn reveals very small distinctions that can have a very profound impact on your training. Which translates into better results, faster, in the gym. After only one week into the ABSolution Program, I've completely altered my training, eating and supplementation to fit my lifestyle needs, and can literally see and feel the difference it's making in my body.

Summary: Great book but may not be detailed enough for beginners
Review: I found the book very enjoyable to read and the pictures were fantasitc. After reading the book the most I can give it is 3 stars. Bascially in a nutshell you will do your high intensity interval cardio for no more than 20 minutes and work your abs afterwards (3 exercises) three times a week such as on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday is the weight training which is performed on a two way split performed on a rotation. Now here is what seems unbalanced to me and was not given in enough detail. Chest, shoulders, and triceps on one workout such as on Tuesday and Saturday. But here is what seems just way too much for one workout. Back, biceps, AND legs! Now we are performing two exercises per body part here but the legs is not just one body part! You have your quadriceps, your hamstrings, and your calves! An example was not given in the book but if you were performing two exercises per bodypart like the book recommended this workout would be very long and strenous because it would come down to at least 10 exercises for this workout and only 6 exercises for chest, shoulders, and triceps. I honestly feel in a way he has mainstreamed this book to fit the novices needs and not so much for more advanced lifters. More detail was needed in this book but overall it was a good book to read but just needed more detail.

Summary: Want great abs, check this out!
Review: Shawn Phillips did an awsome job in this book! As you can see from his own body, this man practices what he preaches!! The book does feel like he's talking directly to you, the reader. Shawn is so gut level honest about how to get in shape, he won't lie to you or tell you something that won't work. He and his brother, Bill Phillips, are out to give body building to everyone, so check out this book.. it's a great extention to the Body for Life program by Bill Phillips!! A true life changing transformation!!

Summary: Absolutely Perfect.....
Review: The cover says it all "the Practical Solution for Building Your Best Abs." But it's so much more than just abs; ABSolution gets you started on a journey to transform your body both inside and out. It's one of the few fitness books that actually address a powerful mind along with a strong body. The motivational content and inspiring photos are sure to empower those of us persuing personal development. The only negative to Shawn's book is that it's too short, I wanted to keep reading! But this amazing book will find the homes of all my friends and family, it's the best gift I could ever give!

Summary: Buy this one!
Review: I have had great results from the Body for Life book. I wanted to get this one ever since I knew it was coming out. I read it in a few hours and really enjoyed all of what Shawn had to say. I really felt he was talking to me. This is the ONLY AB book you should buy! He puts it all into propective on how to achieve your best. It is a definate read for all who WANT to achieve their best! I can't wait for my results.
