Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great book for us older "dudes" learing to snowboard
Review: I'm 48 and only in my second year of snowboarding, but Mr. Ryan's examples and explanations ring true when he explains the "how to" in controling the board and the body. I can't wait to get out and try the exercises for carving and control. Imagine what I'd have to pay in lessons to get this kind of advice! I've recommended it to the local snowboard shop.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must have for any serious snowboarder.
Review: I'm not a professional snowboarder, but I can stay up and I enjoy it. Ryan's guide is comprehensive and thorough. Just like you'd always have a dictionary somewhere in your house, any avid snowboarder should not be without this encyclopedia. It is well written, conversational, and contains every piece of information an average to professional snowboarder would want to know about the sport.

Summary: VERY GOOD for the BEGINNER!!!
Review: It does not seem realistic to learn snowboarding from a book, but I did. For someone that has never snowboard before, I took 1 snowboarding lesson from an instructor, but felt that I needed more information.
After many days of trying to snowboard, I bought this book. This awesome book sure helps in giving further explanation and perspective. It covers alot for a small price. I went from
someone that was not confident on the snow to a VERY GOOD RIDER in a few weeks. The compliment I got was: "Did you take another lesson?"
That was what my snowboard instructor had asked.
By the way, now, I am a certified AASI Snowboard Instructor.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The definitive guide for the beginner through advanced rider
Review: Just one look at this guide will tell you that the author has spent the better part of his life on a snowboard. I had a chance to ride with Kevin in Colorado and he was impressive both riding and instructing others in his lessons. The book includes a warm-up section with snowboard-specific stretches, as well as how to ride bumps, carve boiler plate ice, tune your board, fall safely and enjoy the sport to its fullest. In my opinion, this is the best snowboarding book on the market and the pictures are excellent.

These are no little cartoons either, they're personal, and informative. Perfect book, this rating goes to infinity!Good Book! Y

Summary: Very Good Instruction and Info
Review: This actually is a very well written and thorough book. I also have "The Complete Snowboarder", which (to me, anyway) is not nearly as insightful and useful, although it is a good book.
Of course, it is obvious that the best way to get better is to ride, but . . . if you want to read some of the best descriptions of the mechanics of snowboarding, this book has it.
Get some lessons, of course, but I really think that beginners thru intermediates can learn at least a few things from this book. I personally learned a LOT. Highly highly recommend.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: If you only buy 1 snowboard book. This is it!
Review: This book covers everything. It goes from really simple common sense stuff to advanced tricks and tips. Light hearted, never boring and REALLY REALLY usefull. You can't replace lessons with a book but I do recommend this one whatever your skill level. Kevin Ryan, you da man!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent snowboarding tool
Review: This book is a great tool for beginners as well as intermediate. Explains how things work in details and it's very easy to understand, the many images will help you visualize the tricks you want to learn. After reading this book I am in desperate need of snow. Snowboarding can be so addicting, this book will keep you fresh even if you have to wait until the next snowboarding season.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: it was a very bad book of snowboarding
Review: This book is very bad and does not give a real idea of the sport of snowboarding

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Does this guy walk on water as well !
Review: This is a masterpiece. I see from a quick search that Kevin Ryan is involved in education. Kevin Ryan has brought cutting edge experiencial instruction meathod to bear on snowboarding. The result is the best adventure sport guide ever written. His ability to isolate and convey concepts is remarkable. This book will be a benchmark for adventure sport guides
