Summary: Its awsome man, it teached me everything I know about boardn
Review: Dude..... you gotta get this book!!!! It's got some Phat pics, and some great tips. I have always been an Extreme dude, I kayak, I sk8, but I never Snowboarded before. Some of my homies helped get me a snowboard,I tried it, and I sucked bad. Beleive me I took some Phat L's.I did't have the money to get lesons, so I got this book. After a week of reading this book and gettin' out on the slopes, I was tearin' it up on some black diamond runs, I read about carvin' a couple of times and Know I'm shreddin' it up hard core man, Dude, trust me man, you'll be looking to catch some mad air after you read this book. You'll wan't to go for the gap. Peace out my Peaps. Nate The Sk8

Summary: Nit Picking
Review: Excellently written and illustrated for beginner to advanced. One tiny flaw: I believe the boot illustration for the male on page 160 should be that of a toe edge instead of a heel edge, probably a photo flip of the publisher. I hope the vidio presentation of this book will include DVD. It's so much better for slow motion viewing than VCR. Regards to Mr. Ryan

Summary: VERY GOOD for the BEGINNER!!!
Review: For someone that has never snowboard before, I took the lesson,
but this book sure helps in giving further explanation and perspective. IT covers alot for a small price. I went from
someone that was not confident to a VERY GOOD RIDER in a few weeks. The compliment I got was: "DId you take another lesson?"
That was what my snowboard friend asked. ...

Summary: Very helpful, but take a lesson too!
Review: I got this book last September in anticipation of snowboarding season. I had already gone snowboarding a couple times last year and figured this might have some ways I could improve my riding. It did. This season (now long over) I was a lot better and tried many of the things listed in this book. Unfortunatly, I spent a lot of time grounded, it didn't snow much in NJ or the Poconos, and I only got to go riding twice. Still, the improvement from reading this book was great. However, as it says in the first (or maybe second) chapter you should still take a lesson if it's your first time out. Then, you'll be able to exploe some of the slightly more advanced techniques and have a better time.

Summary: good material for people who want to improve
Review: I just came to Amazon to order this book based on a friend getting it for her nephew. I told her to get Warren Miller's Freeriders video, but when she couldn't find it she settled on this, and showed it to me before she gave it to him. I'm an intermediate level boarder, 31 years old, who just started riding this winter and even just skimming through the book for ten minutes before I had to hand it back I picked up several useful tips I'm going to try out at Smuggs in all this fresh snow we're getting. Then when the book gets here from Amazon, I'll find some more things to try.

Summary: As Fun as Snowboarding
Review: I thought the book is awesome. It contains many many tips from how to figure out your stance to how to repair your snowboard. It was fun and easy to read; it was written in layman's terms, and it contained numerous comic but helpful drawings. The author was rather "philosophical" in terms of his teaching technique which I thought was great. You could actually apply his philosophy or "learning how to learn advice" to any sport. Buy it! It's a very good reference book.
