Summary: Essential Guide to Judo
Review: If you study Judo you need this book. It is the definitive and official description of what Judo is by the founder of Judo and the Kodokan Judo Institute in Tokyo. Sure the pictures could be larger and more clear, but a lot is crammed into this book including important historical photos of famous masters performing techniques. There may be more basic books for beginners, but if you intend to really study Judo then you need this one.

If you do other martial arts and you want to know about Judo this would also be a good buy.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Essential text for every Judo player.

Summary: The finest and most prestigious judo book ever written
Review: Jigoro Kano was the founder of judo. It has received a boost in recent years thanks to the Gracie family of Brazil and their students, who prove beyond doubt that judo/jiujitsu is the most effective fighting art in the world.

Kano includes in his masterpiece 57 throwing techniques, 7 hold down techniques, 11 strangling techniques, and 9 joint locks. Practice these moves with a partner at home and you will be a great fighter. Knowing these moves is the great equalizer against a stronger opponent.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The definitive work on the subject.
Review: Master Kano presents a complete, accessible, overview of the wildly-popular modern martial art and sport that he created from the relatively unstructured world of old-school Japanese Jujutsu. All judoka and modern jujutsu practitioners should add this to their library!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: You have to have this book, if you are a Judoka
Review: Modern Judo, is merely a sport, in most places. No one really teaches it because of the way this art has shifted. There is a whole another side of Judo than just competion, that makes Judo a Martial art. This book is Judo. If you are a Judoka, there is no way that you can do without the book from the founder himself.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: THE Judo Book! No Joke--MUST HAVE!
Review: My Jujitsu Sensei recommended this book for me, and I was surprised at the pleathoera of useful knowledge that I could take aweay and use in Jujitsu. It is very well organized and step by step instructions for anyone who (like me) forgets the subtle neuances of every technique.
