Review: One word: Outstanding. Bring this book with you to Kauai. The fact that it concentrates on hiking was why I bought it. I hadn't considered snorkeling until I read about Ke'e Beach. This book will get you thinking and will get you out there. I should also mention that the majority of stuff in here is free. What a concept.

Review: Our family companion for ten days. Definitely towers above all the other guide books. The fact that it rolls five sports into one volume is genius and the sprinkling of history was an added bonus. We all took a turn at choosing which hike to take and never ran out of new beaches to snorkel. A real bargain and a necessity if you've never been there.

Review: Raves for this fully packed guidebook. It inspired me to go beyond what I normally do on vacation, blob out on the beach. It's light on accommodations and restaurants but full of places to explore that aren't on the usual tourist circuit. It's rare to find yourself alone on such a small popular island but the book directed me to long stretches of sand and coastal bluffs where all I could hear was the pounding sea. A breath of fresh air and welcome respit from my cubicle world. Thank you Trailblazer!

Review: Sunset is right, this book is a must if you're thinking of touring Kauai at your own pace. We divided our time by camping one week and staying in a hotel they recommended for the latter part. Not only does this book contain everything and anything you'd want to do here, it introduces each section with a little historical background so you can appreciate what you're seeing. I liked the simple maps and positive attitude of the authors.

Review: The authors have made it exceedingly easy to get around Kauai and find everything. What stood out for me was the chapter organization - - the maps prefaced the hikes in each region and were grouped with the trail gateway locations. They've included highway mile markers so their readers can countdown where to pull off the road and park. I also liked the interesting historical tidbits that they buried in the text. Also they haven't skimped on photos. This title has become my preferred book for getting around this island.

Covers the whole island, including those unique and out of the way places that other books overlook. Clearly written (in a personable, refreshingly candid style) and easy to use, the Kauai Trailblazer sets the standard for travel guides. If you're going to Kauai, this is the book you MUST have!

Review: These sports gurus get an A+ for the variety of trails and excursions packed into one well rounded volune. The authors do the island justice. THere are enough hikes and bike rides to keep the average vacationer busy for a month. We saw it all, did all we could in two weeks and look forward to more during our next break. Maps A+, accuracy A+, detail A+, photography A+, cultural info A+. We enjoyed using this chunky guidebook.
