Summary: A Must Read For Scottish Golf Trips
Review: After reading through Golf in Scotland I was so impressed I called up Allan Ferguson and enlisted his services to plan my last trip. This book not only describes how the tour operators overcharge for their services but offers clear alternative for planning a trip. Allan divides the country into sections and then highlights the golf and cultural interests of each section. Trips are then suggested that take in one section or a combo of two or more depending on interests and time constraints.

Allan knows Scotland inside out. He is a pro and planned a faultless trip for me. His attention to detail and the binder of information he creates for each persons trip was truly remarkable. I would highly recommend the combination of this book and enlisting Allan's help to anyone planning a Scottish golf trip.

Summary: Making Scotland User Friendly
Review: Alan delivers everything you need to know to organize a great trip to Scotland. Previously thought of Scotland Golf as being only available thru expensive tour operators this book shows you how to do an economical trip to the Home of Golf. A must read for anyone contemplating a trip to the Homeland.

Summary: Great Help for the First time Traveler
Review: Allan Ferguson has made planning my trip to Scotland fun as I discuss with my son our first trip to Scotland. His golf course descriptions, fee schedules, maps of Scotland, and recommendations have enabled us to discuss together plans for our Father/Son adventure. Half of the fun is in actually planning our trip. Allan's book contains invaluable information as well as a glimpse at his sense of humor and genuine love of Scotland and her people. I think it is a must read for anyone who is thinking of traveling to golf's birth place. We were excited about our trip before reading the book, and now our excitement is even greater. I've already read it twice and am anticipating a third read as soon as I can get it back from my son.

Summary: Guud to the wee last line.......
Review: Allan Ferguson is a very experienced Scot traveller and golfer. You can use this guide to assist your own attempt to plan a golf trip to Mecca ......errr ..... the home of golf. Rather than pay high travel company prices, his words will guide you, and if need be, he can help you for a very nominal fee.

His love for the links game comes right through the book into your own heart.

Read .....and prepare to depart, for Scotland.

Summary: Top-Notch Advice for Golfing in Scotland
Review: Allan Ferguson writes a book that in essence competes with his own successful golf travel agency. One finds in Golf in Scotland excellent recommendations for lodging, dining, & local attractions worthy of a visit. But the main emphasis is on playing the game. Allan's course descriptions, strategies for obtaining tee times on exclusive courses, suggestions for savings on greens fees, & tips on what gear to bring are invaluable for organizing a great trip. This book will help make any Scottish golf visit a most enjoyable experience, regardless of the "wee breeze" occasionally encountered on the course.

Summary: My Trip to Scotland
Review: Allan has put all the essential details into his book for anyone to plan and complete their trip tp to Scotland and enjoy not only the golf but also the hospitality of the Scottish people. He personally helped me with the details of my trip to the Inverness area this spring and I had a wonderful time! I was concerned somewhat about making the trip alone, however that proved no problem, as each detail of the trip was planned so well. His comments and advise about staying in touch with the local Scottish hosts is important to having a true Scottish golf experience. I was able to play with German, Scots, and English companions during my stay. I highly reccommend both his book and his style of planning a Scottish Golf experience

Summary: making the most out of your trip for half the cost
Review: Anyone who goes to Scotland to play golf without reading this book is missing so so much. I have made two trips to Scotland to play golf. The first was through a travel agent, the second one was with the help of Allan and his book. This book not only covers every last detail of any trip, but every word in it is from first hand experience on Allan's part. By reading this book, you are able to customize your trip exactly the way you want to. I can honestly say that I would not have changed one thing about our trip because we were able to choose what we wanted based on Allan's experiences. Although this book was meant to help plan a trip to Scotland, I can tell you that it is even more fun to read after you return. It is great fun reading about the places you have been and getting another person's view of them. Don't miss out. This book will save you thousands of dollars. So as Allan says " Why would anyone want to stay at a big hotel when you could stay at a 300 year old coaching inn and eat the cooking of the chef who used to cook for the swells- all at less than half the price."

Summary: It's easier than you think.
Review: Anyone with access to a computer or a telephone can arrange their own "golf trip of a liftime", and Allan Ferguson can tell you how it can be done. His guide is honest, and arranged in a manner that is informative, interesting, and useful. His book removes the mystique behind the glossy brochures of the big tour operators. I have been to Scotland on three golf trips, and I can attest to the veracity of his tips and strategies. For anyone who loves golf, is thinking of making a trip to Scotland, and wants to save money, this is a must read.

Summary: Addictive golf reading !!
Review: As an avid golfer and reader of all things golf-related, I can say that this book is absolutely without parallel. Thorough, engrossing, entertaining, and eminently satisfying. The author's obvious love of Scotland shines in every paragraph. Planning on visiting Scotland in the next couple of years, I took a chance on this book after reading a review. Woe unto the hapless golfer who doesn't avail himself of this work before making arrangements. A new standard for golf travel writing has been set. Mr. Ferguson WILL be MY itinerary planner for Scotland!
