Summary: Play the Game not Yourself
Review: I have just read this book and was initially skeptical on the impact Dr Rotella's suggestions would have on my game. This book helped me not to put extra pressure on myself and to concentrate on the purpose of the game NOT a perfect swing. The result - the best long game I have played in years!!! This book gives every golfer a reality check and tells them exactly what golf is. Its the toughest game on the planet and kicking yourself for not hitting good shots throughout the round destroys your chances of playing your best. Standing on the driving range hitting balls and playing on the golfcourse are 2 different things. If 90% of golf is mental why does everyone spend all of their time hitting thousands of balls and reading books on the mechanics of the golf swing? Devote time working on your mental game - it will put you on another level.

Summary: OK to Make a Mistake
Review: Read this along with Putting out of Your Mind by Rotella.
Puts golf into a perspective that helped me to focus on improvement and what is working not what isnt working..made me want to go out and play more..
fast reading.

Summary: Required Reading: Golf is a Mental Game
Review: Seriously, this sport is 95% mental, 5% physical. Dr. Rotella supplies the reader with countless tips to give one the power to overcome the "demons" inside all of us on the golf course. If you knees begin to shake over the three-footers, or see OB to the left (or right) as a ball-magnet, consider this book - it's one of the few truly helpful books on the mental side of golf.

Summary: Just having fun now...
Review: Not much to say other than look at the target, look at the ball and swing!!! I shot in the 80s for the first time this summer. Get this book if you get frustrated during a round. It will help change and improve your game.

Summary: Simpler golf
Review: Great read! Full of good stories. But... is golf that simple? I would like to believe yes. No mechanical thoughts from a 100 yards in... hard to do, certainly for me! I'm very perfectionistic in my attitude towards golf, this book tells you to focus on the perfect attitude rather than the perfect swing. May be my focus has to change... and I will get better! I played as a pro for a brief period, lack of sponsorship and no significant improvement in my game after turning pro led me to give it up (I still play as an amateur)... though I had dreamed of being a World-beater! The bit on "dream great dreams and achieve great things" might be difficult to swallow - I didn't make it! Other things to come? Who knows. Hopefully Bob is right - I have to be patient and persistent, and discipline myself towards success in another field. Would like to speak to Rotella in person. Though his book does a great job in conveying his message!

Summary: Great book for mental game!
Review: A friend of mine told me about the book a couple of years ago. To be honest I didn't really think that golf was a lot of mental game. Was I ever wrong! This book will help you to reach your true potential.

Summary: Spring is here again...
Review: ... and it is time to read Rotella's book once more. Of all the books purporting to improve one's game, this is the only one I can honestly promise, 100%, will work. I read it at least once a year (It's a quick read.) and have given copies to many friends.
Not only will it make you a better golfer, it will make you a better playing partner.

Summary: Very different perspective!!!
Review: I have always wondered what the best players are thinking before they hit the ball. Now I know!!!! Great book.

Summary: A good book for the mental approach to Golf
Review: A friend and golfing partner gave me this book to read and I found it to be very enlightening and easy to read. Mr. Rotella focus' more on the mental approach to golf than swing plane and mechanics. However he does address the issue and states that there is a time and a place to think about and also practice your swing faults just not on the golf course. He shows you how to focus, improve your accuracy through visualization and taking dead aim, using confidence to improve your putting and how to achieve it.
Simply stated there is a physical side to golf and a mental side and Mr. Rotella shows us how to improve our game and cut down on mistakes, save strokes and improve course management.
He shares stories about his teachings and conversations with several professional golfers and insights into their world.
I carry an 11 handicap and the weekend after finishing this book I shot a 76 after being 3 over through the first 3 holes and finished with 31 total putts. This book will work for you if you are looking to take your game to another level.
