Rating: Summary: Great comphrensive book on the short game Review: Pelz covers it all. Totally comprehensive guide to the short game. Now to hit it off the tee!! Pelz's book has also helped with my long game, however I'd recommend Mike Adam's "Laws of the Golf Swing" , "How to find your Perfect Swing" and "Power Golf for Women". Combine any of these books With Pelz's "Short Game Bible" and you'll have the total game :)

Rating: Summary: Salvation for your short game...count on it! Review: There is no question, as others have already asserted, that this book is the most helpful teaching aid I have ever come across. To demonstrate what I am talking about let me share what happened after just two weeks of practicing my distance wedges:I was about 48 yards from the green and lying 3 on a par 4. Between me and the pin was a 12 yard wide bunker about 8 yards from the pin. And to top it off the green sloped away from the bunker putting the hole on a down slope. I knew from reading this book that: 1) My 7:30 sand wedge (Cleveland RTG) flies about 42 yards. 2) When the ball hit the down slope of the green it would jump off at twice the angle. 3) The only way to get the ball to stop remotely close was to put some spin on it (something I never could do). As I prepared to address my ball I found I was on a hardpan lie and I knew from this book that I should be able to get a great deal of spin from such a shot. So I confidently stood over the ball and gave it my best 7:30 swing. I made crisp, solid contact with the ball and it flew off my club with a little lower trajectory than normal - I played it a little farther back so I was sure to "pinch" it on contact. The ball cleared the top of the bunker by a yard or two, bounced about 3 or 4 yards forward and then proceeded to back up about 4 feet! It was incredible! And yes I made the putt for par. This shot would have never been possible for me had I not read this book.
Rating: Summary: Excellent instruction on the short game of golf. Review: This is the best book on golf instruction I have read. The concepts are well explained and easy to understand. I have tried the exercises with the wedges and can see an improvement in my play. I recommended this book to anyone that wants to improve their play and lower their score.
Rating: Summary: A must read Review: A year ago, I started watching Dave Pelz on the Golf Channel. As I have been working on those concepts presented in the classes, my short game has gotten better. With this book, I now have a lot more of the information that the programs did not have time to cover, or I just missed. How to hit all the short game shots is covered in detail. I have found it relatively easy to transfer his shot descriptions into actual shots on the practice range and on the course. In my opinion, this book is a "must read" for any serious golfer. With this book, and a bunch of hard work over the next year or so, my short game is going to be awesome. And my scores, well time will tell on that one.

Rating: Summary: Required reading for college golf team Review: As a collegiate golf coach, I have made Dave Pelz's book Putt Like the Pros required reading for the members of the team for over 4 years now. IT is real, and it works...The Short Game Bible can be expressed in the same terms. Unlike the pile of golf literature out there written by some big name player and providing advice that, while probably entertaining, will never lower your score...Dave Pelz PROVES it to you. Practicing the techniques in his book, with a practice buddy to make sure your form is correct, just twice a week for an hour...will give you a tremendous confidence boost, and the KNOWLEDGE to lower your score. I have been teaching these Pelz techniques to my team since I took his school with great results...this book just makes it simple and visual. Add another item to your summer reading list boys...Thanks Dave.
