Rating: Summary: The book for those on steriods Review: I followed arnold's training principles and for the last year have been experiencing chronic insomnia. My blood pressure is through the roof (used to be low), and my body is breaking down due to the increased cortisol levels in my blood. Basically, this book is great for learning the different exercises, but what he recommends for training has seriously screwed me up. I suffer from overtraining syndrome which takes months of NOTHING to get over - it's basically an extended hormonal imbalance that screws up everything. I was lifting 2 days on, one off for approx 100 minutes with HIGH INTENSITY (1 min rest as advised between sets). The only way arnold was able to perform with his program is by having a greater testosterone/cortisol level; he achieved this with injections of steroids. MORE IS BETTER routine is being proven with scientific studies to be a VERY BAD STRATEGY. Arnold did 3x as much as anyone, took steroids, and still was never as massive as today's bodybuilders who are all natural. I think that says something. I love arnold, I have posters of him hanging in my apartment. I can't help to be upset, however, that with his advice, I'm going to have to take a long time off of weights. By the way, I'm only 20 years old, my nutrtion is flawless and consistent. My training (and interrelated sleep) were the only variables. So, in 3-5 weeks I'm going to give it another go - hopefully my endocrine system will recover and I will overcome the hormonal imbalance. EVERYONE PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
Rating: Summary: Arnold is the king! Review: This is the book to start and end your bodybuilding career. If you notice the guys today really don't look very good. Arnold really had the body look, Especially the arms in my opinion. This book has his own opinions which I think are nice.
Rating: Summary: gained 20 lbs Review: hey everyone... ive been following this book since january 2004. i started out with the basic program and am now in the advance one. i was weighing 166 lbs in january and am now 185 lbs at 5 '8 1/2... i have less body fat than before too.. this book definitely helped out
Rating: Summary: Pretty good book Review: I just bought this book, and boy I was so amazed by how Arnie gives his tips in bulding a perfect(or almost) body. Very complete and straight to the point. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to start this program, and who idolizes Arnold as one of the greatest bodybuilders.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: In this new and revised version with Bill Dobbins Arnold gives the A - Z's of Bodybuilding. Before I bought this book I knew very little about bodybuilding and nutrition but after reading through the book a few times a was an expert in the field. By using the routine he has laid out And following his nutrition guidlines I have been able to transform my body into a form that could compete in a competition. I have found no other book that has laid out a plan without using any sort of fad schemes, Arnold uses the basics: Hard work and a lot of discipline. If you are ready to work hard than this book is for you.
Rating: Summary: Great Reference! Wealth of Information! Review: This is a must have for anyone who is an aspiring body builder or anyone who wants to get into better shape! Arnold really breaks down a lot of information and displays it in a terrific fashion!
Rating: Summary: This Book Sucks Review: HAHAHA! Just playing this is a five star book! This book is great! Read it and learn!
