Rating: Summary: Arnold is the Man Review: This book is great for any amateur bodybuilder looking for quality information on training, diet, and competitions. All the basics are covered in this work of art. It will get anyone motivated to get in to shape! Nevertheless, if you have experience in bodybuilding, and have been lifting for six months or even six years it will spark up your motivation to a new high.
Rating: Summary: 5 stars for the king of 5 stars Review: From the seven times Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarezenegger the greatest bodybuilder of all time and the ultimate self-made man comes a book that teaches the mind to control the body. Whether you are a beginner, medium or even advanced bodybuilder seeing the secrets behind the success of the world champ make you get pumped and work hard in the gym. What most people don't realize is though this book is for steroids-users you can still adjust the schedules for your own needs as a natural bodybuilder. Arnold teaches you how to USE YOUR BRAIN WHEN YOU TRAIN. I'm a natural bodybuilder and I follow Arnold's principles and training but this does not mean that I have to train EXACTLY like him. For example if Arnold does 25 sets for a triceps workout. If you don't use steroids you don't have to do that. 14 sets is more than enough. Because steroids boost up the energy by 50% (depends on how intense your workout is) or more you should realize that if 25 sets are archived by steroids (50% boost up) then half of that is the maximum that can be achievedd naturally. That also applies to how many times you train, how many body parts you train a day, how much protein intake (steroids uses more protein), and how long you train (most people spend hours on TV , can't you spend an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes training?), ....etc. And the foolish saying that he has the best genetics that is why it worked for him is wrong. Because logically Arnold is not the only gifted bodybuilder with good genetics in the world. I've seen many many bodybuilders with great genetics but they don't know how to take advantage of it. Look at bodybuilding magazines and you will understand what I mean. Every bodybuilder talks about training but it is rare that someone talks about training the mind (which is the key to start bodybuilding) like Arnold does to help you achieve your goals in bodybuilding or in others. This is doesn't mean that the Encyclopedia doesn't have very few mistakes but nobody is perfect! I recommand this book for everyone in the world of bodybuilding. It has the principles and the technical side of it.
Rating: Summary: ! Review: I think this book is so perfect.... There is not enough information about bodybuilding in Taiwan.... So when I got this book, I got a guide to exercise...and knew lots things of bodybuilding.. Wonderful!
Rating: Summary: out of this world Review: this book is a God send for all, i am not going to on and on just get it you will then know what i mean
Rating: Summary: Bottom line - useful, and COMPLETE Review: The one thing that can really be a pain in sports science/nutrition/bodybuilding is the sheer amount of information flying about in workout books, musclemags, on the net etc. etc. Often workouts/cutting programs are cobbled together from many different places. With this in hand, the task is much easier. Winges and gripes about scientific faults in the text aside, this book is definately the most concise about bodybuilding I have every read. Mostly it is spot on and above all it covers every facet of training in detail.
Rating: Summary: The true bilble of body building Review: This book is an absolute must for anyone who is a bodybuilder at any level. I am a person who does not usually like reading but I read this 800 page monster cover to cover, and constanlty find myself going back to it as a reference. Arnold does not talk much about supplements, but he does talk about everything else from nutrition, vitamins, training schedules, exercises, workouts, etc... This is the most complete book on bodybuilding I have ever read and would recomended it highly
Rating: Summary: Body Building 101 - 500 Review: I have been training for five years now. The information and knowledge contained in this book is worth its weight in gold. Gives many different perspectives and angles on almost every body part.
Rating: Summary: THE REAL DEAL Review: After searching for a long time in bookstores for a book that I could use as a guide for my exercises I had almost given up all hope of finding anything that had something I hadn't know before. Then I found this book and it has everything one needs to know about bodybuilding
Rating: Summary: Must have for anyone interested in bodybuilding on any level Review: This book has everything you need to know about all aspects of bodybuilding. It starts with basic recommendation and training techniques for the beginner and ends with posing for bodybuilding competitions. The book is well organized, so it is very hard to get lost. In the first few pages, you will find the history of bodybuilding, but following it are the actual programs and sets of exercises that you can use for every workout. There is a beginner program, advanced program, and competition program. Each program has 2 levels of training listing exercises most suitable for each level. If you are a beginner, you can start with level 1 of the beginner training and then eventually move up as you see results. Or you can just start with a level that you see fit for your current shape, as I did. After all the programs, you will find information on how to correctly perform each of the exercises listed in training programs, all with big illustrations (you will see a lot of inspiring pictures of famous bodybuilders). You will also find many different exercises that you can use to alternate your workouts, and also nutritional programs to go with your training. Nutritional programs are divided into different levels as well. I have never used anabolic steroids, and I have no problem performing exercises listed in the book. Some of them may be hard, but not in the beginner training. That's why you shouldn't start with advanced training unless you feel comfortable. I started seeing results after as little as 2 weeks after almost no progress for last half a year before I picked up this book. Arnold's training hits all muscle groups, and some that many people simply miss/disregard, but that are essential for building the best physique. You don't need steroids to do any of the exercises or to workout for 2 hours a day. In fact, I actually enjoy my every workout more than ever. It is hard to describe 800 page book in a few words, so there are a lot of things in there that I didn't even mention. You just have to see for yourself. I can't speak for everyone, but I definately recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A good refrence. Review: This book is good in that it gives a variety of exercises for all the muscle groups. However, different plans work for different people. Therefore, one must sift through this book to find the exercises that will work best. This book does contain a lot of information. This makes it easy for a beginner to get lost and not know where to start.
