Rating: Summary: Far More Than A Bodyweight Drill Book! Review: In addition to learning how to master two of the best bodyweight drills period for strength, you will learn how to transfer the high tension techinques that Pavel reveals to weight training and athletics. This books is much more than another book on bodyweight drills. It is the first book on how to develop high levels of strength with your bodyweight and reveals the truth on the limitations of high rep bodyweight drills such as pushups and hindu pushups. Pavel also goes into great detail regarding his GTG program which is an incredible and controversial way to gain strength fast. Every time you read the book you will pick up something new that will benefit your training tremendously.
Rating: Summary: If you want to show off Review: in front of the ladies at the gym, this book's not for you, likewise if you want bloated muscles, this book's not for you. But if you want to get stronger this book is it. I stopped reading after half a dozen pages --- worth the price right there! --- because he made so much sense and answered all the unanswered questions I've had about getting stronger *without* all that lifting. Wella! I can understand that lifting weights in and of itself can be pleasurable to some. I never found it so. For those who want to do the poundage for bodybuilding this book won't be the saviour it's been for me and those like me who don't have the desire to do all those needless reps but just want to get strong(er). Already I'm stronger after a few weeks of "not lifting." Shortly I'll read more/all of the book. For now, it's bottom line is: don't do all those needless reps. Intensity and focus are the keys.
Rating: Summary: Of the "Most Important" Training Books Ever Review: Just one of the things I love about Pavels book, The Naked Warrior, besides the title, is it's simplicity and focus on profound concepts that can only come from a true expert, grounded in experience. And I mean profound, not only in terms of their application to strength, conditioning and development but also to lifestyle. For example, not training to fatigue and depletion, leaves you in a position where you can intensely train your muscles to adapt in size and strength while still having capacity left over, and, avoid the need to go into the typical 48 hours of recovery and healing (like body builders do) before being capable of training a particular muscle set again. This has huge implications for the person that has huge demands on their time and personal capacity and doesn't have the capability to go into 48 hours of healing from a grueling workout taken to fatigue. You can workout in short but powerful stints and get on with your life and still get great results in size and strength. This reminder and adjustment makes this book priceless for me... I feel better, have more control over the use of my time and I'm never really fatigued or walk around like a piece of macaroni waiting to recover. I am doing this now in almost all of my excercise forms including my biking - Short, intense, adaptive, short-of-fatigue workouts - thanks Pavel! A raving fan - John Allen, Founder of www.MyTrainer.com
Rating: Summary: Good book - terrible company Review: Pavel's latest overpriced tome is as enjoyable as his previous efforts. I have Power to the People and The Naked Warrior and give both high marks for utility and accessibility. Pavel knows his stuff and conveys that knowledge with humor and ease.HOWEVER, the folks at Dragon Door are the lowest of the low. I just received a mailing from Dragon Door stating that they were "reconsidering my commitment to fitness" and unless I ordered their latest book, they would remove me from their mailing list. I sent the ad back to John Du Cane, their President, with a request to do just that; remove me from their lists. Who was the marketing genius that told Du Cane the best way to keep customers is to insult them into additional purchases? I can appreciate what Pavel is doing; I just wish he were doing it with someone else.

Rating: Summary: Exceptional and Extremely Easy to Follow Review: The results are staggering! I'm so impressed with the simplicity and the brilliance of Pavel's program. The guidelines and the diagrams make this course complete. The value of being in super condition has been vital for my business success and for my sense of well being. The investment in this book was one of the best fitness investments I've ever made. Anyone looking for the secrets of the super strong need not look any further than The Naked Warrior.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This book is the antithesis of books that recommend high rep calisthenics. Those are fine for conditioning, but do not build much strength. Naked Warrior is all about building limit strength throughout your entire body with high tension bodyweight drills, specifically multiple variations of the pistol and the one armed pushup. Not only will following the program enable you to do those two terrific exercises, but the high tension techniques will be useful for any other strength pursuit you choose. I was able to start doing one armed pushups in about a week using the principles from the book, and should be able to do the pistols soon. The exercises can be done anywhere, and take very little time during the day. A few pistols and one armed pushups a day will do far more for you than cranking out endless Hindu squats, crunches and two handed pushups and take nowhere near as much time.
Rating: Summary: Excellent results during a 2 month long trip to Asia Review: This program is elegant in it's simplicity and effectiveness. I've been on the road for the past 2 months all over Asia. This program was my core workout program during that time. I could literally do it anywhere since no specail equipment was needed and was able to increase the difficulty of the program as I got stronger. I've seen many approaches to training but Pavel has a gift for givng you the raw meat that gets result.
