Essential Pool: A Complete Course from a World Champion

Summary: Not at all a bad intro
Review: I can recommend this book (in addition to others, esp. Play Your Best Pool and Byrne's Standard Book of Pool) for incoming players (or experienced bar players who are not well read on some of the nonobvious intricacies of the game). Essential Pool isn't as in-depth as either of the above two, but does have useful information in it. I found it best to obtain many such books and read them all, because no one instructional pool authors covers everything you need to know.
