Summary: great fly-fishing humor
Review: Everyone should go read Rich Tosches' book, "Zipping My Fly." From beginning to end, I was doubled over with laughter. Being an avid fly-fisher myself, the stories (i.e. Tosches hooking himself and friends with flys throughout the book) hit some of the tourments of fishing right on the nose. He also writes hilarious stories of fishing with his family that will make anyone want to go pick up this hobby. This book is great for all the fishers on your holiday shopping lists...and all the non-fishers as well.

Summary: Snorting Funny
Review: Funny. Really funny. If you don't laugh at "Zipping My Fly" count yourself among the seriously humor-challenged.

Summary: For anyone who likes to laugh!
Review: Humorist Rich Tosches explodes on the literary scene with a book that is simultaneously funny and touching and introspective and funny and did I mention funny?

To enjoy this book, you don't need to be someone who enjoys flyfishing -- just someone who likes to laugh.

Tosches gives you plenty of opportunity with a variety of clever observations of people and life to laugh-out-loud humor.

After finishing Zipping My Fly, my only question is: when is Rich going to write another book? I can't wait.

Summary: A book everyone will love
Review: I absolutly loved this book. "Zipping My Fly" is the funniest fishing book out there. All my friends just died with laughter while reading it, and we still laugh just recalling some of the antics Rich Tosches describes. Go buy this book for all the fishers in you life, or for anyone in your life, for that matter. I guarantee that anyone who reads this won't be able to stop themselves from laughing out loud.

Summary: 964 Bad Jokes
Review: I always enjoy a book that makes me laugh, and Rich Tusches' "Zipping My Fly" made me chuckle seven times before I reached page twelve . . . but then I paid for it. 233 pages and 964 bad jokes later (the worst of which are repeated a half-dozen times per chapter) I had a headache and was finished reading the awful thing. And a bit embarrassed that I had kept track of how many times I had winced.

I think if I ever again see the words "That was just a joke" or "I am not kidding about this" in print again I will give up on fly-fishing books and resort to reading grade-school writing assignments.

Summary: So Funny!
Review: I bought this for my Dad, who loves fly-fishing. The day I gave it to him, I heard him laughing out loud from the other room! When I found out that the book was that funny, I thought I'd give it a try. As soon as he finished the book, I borrowed it from him. Now, I'm not a big fan of sports in general, but I LOVED every sentence of this book. It's laugh-out-loud funny! Buy one for the sportsman in your life, and buy one for yourself, too! It makes a great gift! And you might just get some insight into the minds of die-hard fishermen!

Summary: Could be better
Review: I'll give the author credit for writing a book that's different from all the other fly fishing books out there. This book is funny, and it's meant to be funny. The jokes and one liners were nonstop. But, I felt that the humor got a little repetitive. I grew tired of reading the same phrases over and over again. Personally, I would have liked to have read fewer jokes and a little more of his introspective thoughts. For instance, I liked the chapter called, "A Tear and a Long-Tail Deer", which was about fishing with his kids. It was pensive, sincere and funny at the same time. It showed a little more heart than the rest of the book and it still made me laugh. I just wish there would have been more chapters like that one.
