From the history of the game, to the construct of a golf ball - what is compression? Further, Lou puts his personal views on these facts which makes the read a light and fun one. I recommend this book to new golfers, particularly people married to golfers. It helps explain the wierd and wacky people we have become.

Review: I had heard good comments about Golf, Wit and Wisdom by Lou Romano, and could not wait to read a copy. I ordered it online and in a few days, my copy of Golf, Wit and Wisdom arrived at my front door, complete with the author's signature. I immediately began to read it and realized it is a facutual, insightful book on golf. Although I was first skeptical of Mr. Romano's facts, I personally went to the USGA headquarters and verified all the information I could - he surely did his research. In addition, the book has made for excellent talk on the golf course-knowing what to talk about, and becoming more knowledgable about the game we all love, golf.

Review: This new book, by Lou Romano, answers many of the questions about the game of golf that duffers, par golfers and even some pros might find difficult to answer.

Leaving the development of your swing and golfing skills to others, this book focuses on things a golfer should know, as well as many of the finer points of the game that a golfer may want to know, to add to his own knowledge or to impress his friends. It explains in understandable language; handicapping, equipment selection, etiquette, and a huge list of common and not-so-common golf terms.

The author's own familiarity with his subject matter and his detailed research make this book an informative read for both the novice and skilled golfer. His sense of humor, which is evident throughout, makes this book and enjoyable read for everyone.

I highly recommend this book. It would make an ideal gift for any golfer.
