Summary: DON'T BUY THIS BOOK; IT IS BORING AND BLOATED
Review: I love Bill Murray. I think he is a tremendous comedian. I loved him in Caddyshack. But I hated this book. It is nothing more than his stream-of-consciousness prattling about golf and whatever else entered his head. I would bet that it took him no more than 72 hours to write this puffery. There are few words on a given page, and there are dozens of generally uninteresting photographs. If this had been typeset like a regular book, it would have been 50 pages long at best. It is, to be honest, a rip-off.

Summary: My one-word review would be "Huh?"
Review: I love Bill Murray. I'm sure he has funny stories to tell, but they did not translate to the written word in this book. Maybe the audio version of the book works better. Or maybe it works better if you're a golfer. I'm not. My thought throughout this book was, "Huh? I don't get it."

Murray is not a writer, but George Peper supposedly is. As I see it, it was Murray's job to tell the stories and Peper's job to craft them into a book. Peper didn't do his job.

This is disjointed, unprofessional, impossible to follow, and not worth the trouble. But I still love Bill Murray.

Summary: Frustrating
Review: I reaaallly wanted this to be a good book, but it just was not well written. I found the best parts to be the one page segments from some of Bill friends and the pictures.

Other than that I could not follow this book and wound up tossing it aside. I doubt very much if I'll ever finish it.

Now I know that Bill Murray likes to scam people in a comical way, I guess this book was his way of doing just that.

Summary: Erratic and rambling stories bog down wonderful concept.
Review: I really had high hopes for this book. Sounded to good to be true, and it was. Murray's writing is rambling and unfocused, and while there are the occasional amusing stories I mostly found myself asking what in the world he was talking about.

Shame, too, because I really am a big fan of Bill Murray.

Summary: Bill Murray never fails to deliver!
Review: I recently pcked up this book looking for a enjoyable, quick read. Not only were my expectations met, but I will be proud to have this book on my shelf for years to come. The stories from Bill's childhood are great, but it is his random thought patterns and subtle comments that are of the laugh out loud calliber. I could not put it down until it was finished. Even an occasional golfer such as myself can appreciate Murray's tales. It was excellent!

Summary: Bill should try illustrating instead of writing...
Review: I thought Bill went off on some rambling tales that made little sense. The book was funny at times and the photos were great, but it was difficult to follow the entire tale. If Bill was given the opportunity, I think he would be better at illustrating a children's book of poetry instead. I hear he has an artistic side, and I would like to see how he would draw. His appearance on Letterman promoting this book was enjoyable. If he was offered the chance to collaborate on some children's poems, I'd really be interested to see his creative sparks fly. I'd also be interested in reading a book by Bill about his involvement with the Saint Paul Saints...

Summary: It was great!
Review: I thought that Cinderella Story was a great book! As a golfer and a huge fan of Bill Murray I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. The pictures and captions throughout the book were also very entertaining. To understand parts of this book you have to understand the greatest game ever, golf. I just want to say one more thing: Bill - You did a great job!

Summary: Terrific trip through the life and times of Bill Murray
Review: I thought this was a terrific book. It stands head and shoulders over most of the books that comic actors churn out that amount to little more than monologues posing as chapters. This book is a must for any Bill Murray fan, or, judging by some of these reviews, it's at least a must for Bill Murray fans who are capable of weeding through Bill's elliptical anecdotes. Sure, his stream-of-conciousness style may require a little patience, but the payoffs are worth the patience, I assure you. After reading it, I felt like I just spent the afternoon on Bill's back porch hearing all of his best stories, from his escapades on the links to his days growing up in Illinois to grand tales about making "Caddyshack." One of my favorite stories was about he wound up going to head to head in a golf tournament against John Denver, and how he tried to break Denver's concentration by exhorting the crowd to belt out some Rocky Mountain High harmonies. Great read.

Review: I wanted to love it and found that I could only tolerate it. Funny bits here and there. Otherwise, rough.

Summary: Funny stories of growing up with golf and being Bill Murray
Review: If you are a fan of Bill Murray's and a golfer you want to like this book a lot. Little disappoints in this volumn and it is a lot of fun to read. I laughed out loud at least once in every chapter. The remarkable thing about this book is just how much a part of Bill Murray's life golf really is -- and just how much a part of golf Bill Murray has become. This is by no means a literary masterpiece, in fact, in several spots the reader is sure to wonder if any one proof-read this for continuity. However, this book does a great job in bringing the reader into the "never a dull moment" golf-life of Bill Murray. I'm left to wonder what would a Bill Murray celebrity pro-am be like -- probably a "caddy challenge match" and more fun people have had in years. A good read, that leaves you happier, if not better, for having read it.
